Going to the rod holder! Great Idea, we have been using this idea for years. We use pvc, cut on angle as you showed. But then things change. We use 3 inch pvc (most of our rods are collapsible) When tracking to and from our favorite fishing spots the rods are tucked safely inside the rod holders. We "re-purposed" old umbrella chair bags to store the "holders" in.. so 2 people effectively carry 4 rods a piece slung on our shoulders. Leaves our hands free for tackle box, bait, and the ever so important cooler (of beer) :)

about your quilting frame... quilting and embroidery require tension on the fabric... if you take PVC a size larger than what you used for your frame, it can be slit much like your clamps from an earlier video by forcing it over the fabric and frame to clamp the material in place for stitching. we did this with simple "hoop" frames for my mother a number of years back, and she still uses them from time to time.
@laurashelton93405 жыл бұрын
Did something similar for my cross stitch; used 3/4 inch pvc for the frame & 1 inch cut in half lengthwise for the clamps to provide the tension. Worked out wonderfully esp for large or long projects like some samplers.

As I have watched these videos I see a number of things built that would work even better if they had some extra weight to them or extra weight in the bottom of the item. In these cases I put some sand in the pipes as I go or after completing the item depending on the items design. Using paper, plastic film made for kitchen use or thin fabric that is captured in the joints you can trap the sand in specific pipes to keep the added weight just where you need it.

Figure out what size PVC would fit over the top frame pieces with the quilt sandwich in place (usually about 1/4" to 3/8" thick times 2) Cut them just about 12 o'clock and 5 o'clock. Sand them very smooth on the cut edges and the inner and outer diameters. These can be used to hold the quilt in place during sewing. You will need 8, 2 for each edge.

You could take a piece of like 3/4inch pvc pipe and make it like 20 feet long, and then if you have flowers or trees planted like 2 feet apart you could drill a hole every 2 feet and then find something to connect it to a hose and then when you turn it on, it will water the plant! @TimfromAlabama8 жыл бұрын
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this one or not but.... RV sewage pipes, those flexible ones that slide in the rear bumper. They're real limber and will roll up on you if you don't watch. Well, take a 4 inch pvp pipe, and if you can find it get the thin wall kind not the thick schedule 40 stuff but it will work also just not as easy to store.. Measure it long enough to be as long as your rear bumper is side to side. Cut it long ways so you now have 2 pieces shaped like a U. You take these and lay them on the ground and lay the flexible pipe in it. You can use wire straps to strap it to the pvp and it keeps the flexi pipe stretched out. If you want you can cut the pvp to fit the length of your flexi pipe stretched out so the pipe stays stretched like you want. The nice thing about this is that if you do use the thin wall stuff you can slide your flexible pipe into the bumper and the pvp pieces will also slide into the bumper on top and bottom of the flexi pipe so you can store everything inside the bumper out of the way.

For the paracord bracelet holder you should have used 90 degree elbows for the top instead of T fittings
@mcynics8 жыл бұрын
+Myakka Outdoors That's an option, but here's why I don't: 1) T-fitting keeps bracelets on the top row from sliding down the sides. 2) Allows the rack to be easily expandable to add rows. 3) I can display paracord pens in the open tops. Just my experience.

The mouse trap has been around a long time, but most people don't use it because it's inhumane. Other than that I thought it was a good video.
@silaskuemmerle25058 жыл бұрын
+MrWhitetail it is more humane than those spring-snap kill traps (which are dangerous for humans as well)
@MrWhiltetail8 жыл бұрын
+Silas Kuemmerle I agree if your talking about the old wooden style. I use the newer style plastic snap trap that are easy and safe to set with your foot or hand. I don't know where mine are at the moment so I'm not sure of the name, but they look the same as the "Jawz" brand. I bait it with peanut butter and it gets them behind right behind the head every time. It appears to break their neck and they die quickly. They never miss either. I catch more mice with two of these traps than I can with a half dozen of those old style cheap wood Victors traps and it's much more humane. Plus I don't have to worry about snapping my dang fingers. Much more humane than letting them swim until their legs give out from exhaustion and then drowning.
@silaskuemmerle25058 жыл бұрын
MrWhitetail another trap using the system in the video dumps the mouse in a cage
@937matador7 жыл бұрын
Unless you pay close attention the mouse will generally be able to jump out of a 5 gal bucket. With my system I cut a one inch hole in the lid to the bucket. The peanut butter is suspended 1/3 of the way down the bucket pretty much the same way you set yours up. This way when they fall in they have to shoot for a one inch hole to escape. A 2x4 dropped on the head dispatches the mouse quickly and the body gets placed under the bird feeder to feed the carnivores in the neighborhood.
