Loki is one of the most incredible, awe inspiring and transformative energies I have ever worked with. This video was fantastic and sums up a lot of how I feel about Loki too. There are aspects of what you said that didn't resonate with my opinions of Loki quite as much, but when addressing the idea of an ever evolving, somewhat chaotic bringer of change, interpretations and experiences will never be the same. I feel that this in itself does a lot to sum up what Loki represents :) Brilliant video

As someone who carries Loki as a patron myself, I really like this video. Personally, I take all of mythology with a grain of salt because as times and people change so with the mythos. That being said I don't really believe much of the Poetic Edda because it was written once Christianity had begun to seep into the area and was working to change things. I don't like the bias Christian view because it never acknowledges the grey area's. And Loki was a majorly grey area. Instead, it takes something wonderful and makes it evil and dark because otherwise, it would go against their agenda. But that's me. I have been working on my own Loki video and I just LOVE seeing others that work with him and hearing their stories about it. It's been such a pleasure to watch this piece. Blessed be!

Happy Anniversary to you! Love this series so much! I fell in love with Loki after watching The Vikings and falling in love with Floki...sort of his human counterpart in the series. I always feel that Loki allows us to be human and is almost a gateway to reaching the Gods in spite of our failings and mischievous ways! He is like that voice inside of us, the critic, the humbled, the outspoken, the frustrated, etc. He is like a compass!

I found it interesting when I learned Loki and Logi both mean fire. Logi is Wildfire while Loki is 'tamed' fire. But any fire can easily, quickly, and unexpectedly turn into danger...which many...most of Loki's I'd brilliant ideas often do.

If you keep going down Loki's tale, it doesn't end with his being bound. He dies by Heimdall's hand at Ragnarok. Loki leads the forces against the Gods.
@clwilliams92765 жыл бұрын
They give each other fatal wounds but it doesn't actually say he dies. Its a false assumption from the "fatal" part of that. Sure its a fatal wound but Loki has his seiđr which could ultimately allow him to heal himself. A fatal blow is different than actual death.

What peculiarly apt timing for this video. I have only recently come back to my craft after several years' absence, and there were a couple of days this past week when I distinctly noticed an energy behind some otherwise utterly mundane happenings. I became quite certain it was Loki trying to get my attention. I'm not as well-versed in Norse mythology as I am some others, so I have been researching him as I contemplate why he might have come to me. Thank you for this discussion of him; you've given me some interesting ideas to think about.

Thank you this video is amazing! I love how you talked about Loki in a passionate and understanding way. I have watched other people making videos that just talk about Loki in a bad way with harsh labeling and kinda insult him which in my opinion just furthers the point of Loki being heavily misunderstood. I LOVE your insightful perspective of Lokasenna I haven't thought of it in your way and now I feel more enlightened and I was really drawn to your video. The random bird towards the end made me smile super pretty.

Prometheus gave us the Fire of Free Will... Loki's name is a sort of "captured flame", or "circling flame" (a comet?), also called "Hlodur", "Burning Passion"... also "Nokki", or "Night's Key"... (Lucifer, Phosphorus, Dawn, our Guide out of the Darkness...) He is the Un-Filtered Impulse of our Mind, too excited by what he Knows _CAN BE_ to fear any Judgement. Thor = Thunor = Thought + Hoenir = "Thundering Mind", Sudden Flash of Insight, and Burst of Realization, fast-leaping and far-reaching MIND... And something about "boundaries" which I haven't fully extracted yet...Maybe the "Discerning Mind" or "some such...but He is the Preserver of "one thing from another"...aka Boundaries. Thor tells us that *_Walls Work_* ha ha ha!

Saxo Grammaticus writing on the mainland, a little earlier than Snorri, presents a very different account of the death of Balder. That version presents the death as independent of Loki, with Hod not being blind, Balder not being killed by mistletoe and both being in contention for the hand of Nana. Always find this curious as Valdi takes revenge on Hod not against Loki!

The Sea Priestess thanks so much! and omg I've heard that a million times too lol, and while I find more "academic" perspectives super fascinating- I'm way more interested in deciphering things on a personal level- as it is a spirituality. I so love when you, and others pagans like u, speak about your gods and beliefs- the old ways aren't dead- they're so alive and relevant and we keep them that way, so I thank u as well my friend! so while I agree with the statement and don't necessarily worship/recognize Loki as a deity, in the same way as Thor and Freya, all that Loki is and represents for me is a huge part of my personal growth, world view, and spiritual motivation! ;) xoxo

Thanks. I never read the original norse poems/poetry, just books about it. And I have been considering to study/work with Loki cause since childhood in many aspects he appears in my life (he's also the god/archetype that I most liked ever and also fascinated me/wanna marry👰😎) and like yesterday talked about how I feel as somehow I may not be in the best moment for a Loki vibe, cause I'm a "every second trickster/cetic" person, who also leads a chaotic life style with constant attempts to organize that mess. So I was thinking "ya, to bring some Loki energy to my life will put my house on fire... Totally. Ya. Let's wait some more." ---- Buuut, after that video (so in sync ❤️) I'm going to think some more about that and for sure start some studies. So thanks. So much. I also came to so many other aspects of syncronicity in my life trough your line of thought, so, reallt really helpful. Also, love your way of telling, kind hoping you interpret some more, it's like a amazing archetype gossip lol and I'm: "uh, tell me some more. Really? He didn't!!! He did?! Oh my" haha. Radio-novella. :) Loved it. And since I'm in the flow here: Your smile is full of light and so hard to resist, the type you kind wanna laugh together. :) Great, smart and super helpful video. Thanks. 🌚❤️

While I am not Sacred Seed, I have had dreams of Loki. He appeared to me as being very up front, He says what He wants and in a no nonsense way, He WILL point out things, and He had a very tricky energy to Him. Not in a bad way, just in a Trickster way. He sometimes comes to me with red hair. He can also be silly at times. One dream was of Him dancing. One thing I know about Tricksters, is that They want you to be honest with yourself. No kidding or lying to yourself, and I honour that. So I am like that with Him. If you want to know more about experiences with Loki, check out the term Lokean on google and you can find blogs of experiences with Him, from those that honour, work with or worship Him. :) I know that He has a side to Him that can be quite hard, His Worldbreaker side. Which I haven't seen. But I know is there. Here is a post by someone about Loki's sides: askalokean.tumblr.com/post/75211225297/i-always-see-different-names-for-loki-in-the

I work with Loki. He's my patron diety. Sometimes he presents himself in a feminine energy to me, so he's both my male and female diety in my wiccan practice. He came to me, his energy and presence, long before I even began practicing wicca. His energy is chaotic but also steady, protective and loving but dangerous and hateful. Though that hate is never directed toward you. I think the paradoxicality of his energy is a part of the paradox of him as a diety. He gives me so much. And in return, I do what he wants. If he wants to use me as a form of entertainment because he's become bored with his current situation, then he projects his energy to a follower of his and uses his seiđr to make our situations more entertaining for him. It's always a simple trick or joke that you can laugh about later. And if u ask too much of him without giving something in return, his tricks can become a slight bit dangerous, but he knows u can take it. For example, I was urged to go on a hike while snow was still on the ground and endes up falling about 5 times. I got bruises and scratches, and when I got home, I replaced the offering on the altar. Or this time a few days ago. I found out that my abuelo might die soon, before I ever get the chance to meet him. So I asked Loki to save him, then I realized the equivalent exchange part of things and asked him to keep my grandmother from dieing in surgery as well. I immediately felt a different sort of energy fall on the vehicle my mom was driving and realized my mistake. I took back what I had asked of Loki and explained that I understand that what's meant to happen, will happen. The energy receded. And I watched as a car that would have hit us sped ahead, going out of sight. If I hadn't taken back what I asked, equivalent exchange likely would have killed my mom and severely injured me. U can't ask too much of Loki before it falls out of his hands. That energy that settled over the car was a warning from him. He urged me to take it back and realize thay I shouldn't have asked so much. He didn't want me hurt. He is truly a kind god, a god that cares more than most others. I have many theories as to why he cares so much. He never shows himself to me in a physical form. Whenever he appears, its his energy. I believe that he shows us himself using the sence we rely on most. I have bad eyes and awful hearing, but my ability to feel energy has always been my strongest sense, so he shows me himself in that way. This is getting way to long of a comment, I apologize for that. But when I get talking about Loki, its hard for me to stop.

I am from Norway, and this is so beautiful to watch/listen to. You really have understood the mythology :) If you want to "study" Loki a bit more, check out his similarities with the Sumerian God/Alien Enki, brother of Enlil, Sons of Anu. Enki is THE ONE that created humanity, please just read up on the tablets from the Sumerian Civilisation (First civilisation known to mankind) by yourself. They talk about all of this in the tablets, how these Annunaki's (The ones that from heaven to earth descended) came here, created humans and a whole lot else. Most mythology is that, in "disguise" Altho many are probably different beings/symbols on earth over time. You are right, he is Lucifer, the Morningstar! He gave the Primitive Man essence from their DNA, and "gave Adam&Eve (The human race) the apples of knowledge. Enlil, tried to destroy Humanity with a flood (Sound familiar?) If you study this, you will understand for yourself, and grow a whole lot

He doesnt do tricks on people, he outsmart his enemies - often to atone for hurting those near him. The only reason he is tolerated with the aesir at all, since his father is a jotunn, is because he is blood-brother with Odinn, in a story that was lost. But even that ended up being too much in the end, when he had betrayed those near him for the final time. No one else among the aesir hurts their own kin.
