If you want a reliable and low maintenance 4x4 that you can daily drive then don't lift more than 2" and don't put tires larger than 33", you will save a lot of money and your rig will last much longer and be more reliable. You can do 95% of tracks with a setup like that.

Just replaced all 4 U-joints on my 2010 FJ after 10 yrs of service among U.S, Panama and now Canada. I'm no mechanic, but getting to know my car over the years has taught me to diagnose some issues like bad U-joints shaking from 65 to 70mph and up. Great to see these kind of videos from you guys. Keep it up.

Great to see you are giving a bit of sound advice. One thing you overlooked tho was breathers. The next question is what do you take with in the line of spares? My Pajero I take bearings, cv shaft, unis, lubes & service parts with. I also throw some odds and sods in my toolbox. A cool tip I got was that if you buy "o" ring kits pay a bit more and buy the green "aircon" set they can apparently take much more abuse.

Probably too late for anyone to see this but I have a tip with the cooling system. Never cheap out on radiator caps, buy OEM. The aftermarket ones regularly fail pressure tests, many times letting the coolant system over pressure. This can cause old radiators to start leaking, hoses, water pump seals and even head gaskets to start failing. I speak from personal experience. My "japan spec" made in China cap opened at 29 psi, the OEM Toyota part at 16. Spend the extra few bucks and buy the correct part. You can get away with plenty of aftermarket stuff, don't risk it with the radiator cap.

Great tips, Jocko! Also don't forget to check that brake fluid. Over time it'll attract moisture and start to contaminate the system. It's a little bit of a pain to flush and bleed the system but if out of all system failures having the brakes go when you need them is probably one of the most dangerous.
