I agree with you on Master Of Reality. My favorite Black Sabbath album. So many killer riffs and songs on that album. Into The Void CRUSHES. Blows me away that album came out in 1971. Rust In Peace as well. Definitely 10/10. Peace Sells is damn close to a 10 as well. When it comes to Death Human is 10/10 for me. Paul Masvidal and Sean Reinert are incredible on that album along with Steve Di Giorgio and Chuck of course. Spiritual Healing was the first Death Metal album I heard so Death have a special place for me. I understand your pick though. The Sound Of Perseverance is a great album. To add a couple of my picks, Impaled Nazarene - Ugra Karma is a perfect album imo. Evildead - Annihilation Of Civilization as well. 🤘

Ahh James Murphey and Obituary, great combination. My fave Opeth album is My Arms, Your Hearse. I really like Death - Human. Master of Puppets is such a solid album by metallica! When it comes to Death Metal my favorite album is Gorefest - False. A definite 10/10 for me as well as an objective 10/10 I think. I totally get what you mean about the difference between your favorite album by a band and what you objectively think a band's best album is. Led Zeppelin are the perfect example for me. My favorite album is Presence but I'd say Led Zeppelin II is their best album.

Nice list, I´ll just add a few personal favs Acid Bath - Paegan if I have to choose, but also love Kite (Agents of Oblivion too) Coroner - Mental Vortex, tho I do have a sweet spot for Grin Mastodon - I got Remission pretty much on release, so it has emotional value, even tho Leviathan is a bit better Dissection - Storm... it is kinda in top there... ...and that is coming from a grunge/stoner rock guy

Holy fuck yes yes candlemass is otherwordly super epic doom metal, from 97 that im listening ti it its one of the complete gems , on cause of death i like also much turnedinside out and dying along with find thd arise and the titke track just sick as fuck , and chikdren of the grave has this over dramatic intensity which i mean few songs of sabbath coming clise to thd intensity
