Thank you. I developed tinnitus 3 months ago. Because of your meditation guidance, I am on my way to habituation. I am no longer afraid. I am living my life. Thank you ❤

Hi Nate, just came across this video. I've had tinnitus for over 2 years now after getting COVID. I've spent over $1000 with various "treatments". CBT, MBTSR. And didn't get anywhere. Your video is so very different and explains what needs to be done for it to work. I'll be replaying your videos every day. Thanks for making them. Mark.

@@NateKlempMeditation Nate. Your method worked for me the 1st few times. I would mediate and the high pitch sound would go away. Now it stopped happening and no matter how long I mediate for it won't go away. How long after 15 years did it take you to noticed a major difference? The sound I have is so high pitched I can't go to work or do anything, but wait to go to sleep the next night for it to go away. Thanks for any of your suggestions. Mark

Hello Nate. I've been hunting around for tinnitus meditations where I can find them and you're the best. Straightforward, mellow style. And you're getting right to the heart of staying relaxed first before being with the sounds. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer! Make a longer one!!

I'm just recording some new ones. They'll be out on my website NateKlemp.com in a few weeks. They're not specific to tinnitus but will be of various lengths (10, 20, and 30 min)

I found this helpful. I’m fully habituated now. One great hint was to count your breathing, breath in for 5 counts, hold for 5 counts, breath out slowly as you can, all the time listening to your T & visualize the numbers as you count, after 5 or so reps, you should start dreaming, I used to listen to a song on quiet volume. T is all about how you react to it & how you accept it, if your in panic mode it will be worse, the volume doesn’t increase, it’s our perception of it, yes for some reason we’re more aware of it at times, if we’re stressed or sick, I used to repeat to myself “I will, I can get better”.. it won’t happen over night, but “You WILL get better.

Now it was my second time and I feel free after it Im mean I'm not fighting with timnitus, and not running away. I have to practise it all the time😁 I'm sure it will help

I am starting my journey today. Developed tinnitus 2 weeks ago in one ear, had wax removal yesterday which I hope clears it up eventually. But in the meantime I am doing everything to stop fight or flight and habituation! I will do this all the time now and hopefully I’ll be at peace with the sound

Thank you for this! Loved the visualisation in the beginning and just 'being with the sound'. I've been having headaches and this tinnitus ring for a week now and already feel calmer just paying some dedicated time and awereness to it. (I'm 14 weeks pregnant so could be one of the lovely symptoms) . Will definately do this more often.

Thank you Nate for this generous sharing. I know I will learn a lot from you. I just subscribed. My terror of my sudden onset of acute tinnitus, coupled with complete loss of hearing in my left ear, was crippling. I was traumatized and wanted to die. An 8-week online course, Mindfulness-based Tinnitus Stress Reduction, helped a lot. But I have finished that course and continue to need support and guidance. God bless you for this meditation (which I simply could not have done in the beginning weeks of my loud and constant tinnitus). I look forward to more of your helpful and compassionate videos.

Lovely and relaxing video! I am a long term sufferer (nearing 35 years), and have a question. In most videos, we are advised not to focus/concentrate on the sound in hope that it will disappear. In fairness, this does not seem to work as I have never been able to dis-associate the noise. I feel like it is part of me and will never leave.....and I'm actually quite comfortable with that in a way. I don't know how I would be without it (does anyone else ever report feeling that way?). That said, i would not want this to get any worse.....it IS bad! As I am already quite comfortable with my T, despite not having to focus on it, is there a danger in doing this meditation, would it make me focus more on my tinnitus and potentially make it worse? Sorry if that was a long drawn out question!
@NateKlempMeditation Жыл бұрын
I love this question! I'm in the same boat as you. My tinnitus is now so utterly normal that when it fades away (which it occasionally does from time to time), I actually feel anxiety because I can't hear my tinnitus. So strange! In terms of when to use this meditation, I tune into the sound of the tinnitus when it's bothering me. During these times, if I can stay with the sound in a relaxed way, I find this style of meditation helps me relax into the sound. When the tinnitus is there but not bothering me, I meditate on my breath or just allow my awareness to expand to include it all. I have more meditations like these (that don't involve tinnitus) available for free on my website: NateKlemp.com

@@NateKlempMeditation I completely understand what you mean. It is part of who you are, so magically removing it, would it change you? I think if that ever happened to me, I'd possibly only be stressed worrying that it may come back, stronger (as has happened with some of the skull tapping methods out there). Thanks for your reply and suggestion. I will be sure to give it a go! Thanks for your time!

@darrenfromla Жыл бұрын
Great vid. My question is what do you mean by habituate? Do you mean complete removal of the sound or do you mean living with the sound without any distress?
@NateKlempMeditation Жыл бұрын
The second option. The sound is still there but it fades into the background and no longer creates distress. I'm at the point with my tinnitus where if it goes away, which it does from time to time, that's actually more distressing than hearing the sound. Wild!
@darrenfromla Жыл бұрын
@@NateKlempMeditation Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it. A lingering fear I haven't resolved is the idea that by focusing on the sound I'm teaching my brain to become highly aware of it at all times. I understand relaxaing with it to promote habituation but I wonder if there is a side effect of making it more prominent in my life by focusing on it at all!
@Tahoedanis3 ай бұрын
habituation is great and i use meditation everyday before i had tinnitus and more so now. BUT, i wish you would start this video by saying. Habituation is a great but you should not give up trying to find anything that might be causing your tinnitus. Too many people go straight to habituation and do not look holistically at themselves and all the other ailments that could be leading your body to imbalance and possibly tinnitus.
@darrenfromla Жыл бұрын
Hey Nate. Another question. Is there any harm in doing this tinnitus meditation for longer periods? Say 20-30 mins. Does focusing on the sound for longer periods have a reverse effect of making your brain look for it when you aren't meditating? Any thoughts? Thanks
@NateKlempMeditation Жыл бұрын
It's probably different for everyone. But I think it's fine -- perhaps even beneficial to do this -- provided that you're not experiencing distress. That seems to be the key -- to ensure that you're staying relaxed in the midst of the practice so that you're not creating more tension/trauma.
