@@seanfagan Great vid, really helpful... just curious how long you run each section for, does the timing of the clips match the length of each 'round'?
@notmyname3681
@notmyname3681 5 жыл бұрын
I guess the fact that it says 'train alongside makes it a bit of a dumb question lol. Guess I could rephrase it to; do you ever stretch out each section for a longer session, and how much is shadow boxing a part of your preperation for a fight? Got a tournament end of month and rather limited sparring time, so hoping plenty of this kind of stuff will supplement it enough.
@seanfagan
@seanfagan 5 жыл бұрын
@@notmyname3681 Great question! I typically have my shadowboxing sessions range anywhere from 10-30 minutes depending on the day. In regards to fight prep, I shadowbox a TON because I love the freedom to be creative and flow while also visualizing my opponent on fight night. I'd definitely recommend it!

@@seanfagan thanks man. it would be really amazing. I am currently a beginner in Muay Thai as I had started a year ago. This is a really important video, I think, because so many people take shadowboxing for granted, like "I'll just pretend there's a dude across from me and I'll whip his ass." You show in this video that there's a lot more nuance to it than that. Great stuff, Sean.

Dude. I did this shaadowbing session with you like 3/4 moths ago. By midway I was pretty much close to crashed. I just did again, and only got kinda hosed at the 9th round or so. But I kept breathing through it then at the 10th round, CHARGED through it. My man. This improvement is at least 80% thanks to you and your videos. I was able to keep thinking technique and make sure every shot kinda counted (ok maybe 10% got away from me). Thank you Sean. Thank you so much. Great stuff, at 60, I do this regular, however it’s a lot more Slow Mo, to avoid any muscle strains. Start with leg blocks and jab cross, cross hook combo, get the knees higher and higher. Same with kicks, aim at knee, hip, chest, face. (Front kick) round kick stays at hip/ribs level. Because it’s slow, more emphasis is on good technique.

Nice Sean! I can't remember who I learned this from but for the first several minutes I focus on defensive movements and footwork (no strikes unless they come naturally). @@seanfagan that would be cool! Same with heavy bag workouts! I used Nate Bower fitness workouts each day for a month. Really liked it. But prefer Muay Thai to western boxing.

Awesome video, just recently started training again. It’s hard to train as efficient as possible on your own without some guidance and direction.

I don't know if ALWAYS finishing with a kick is a good idea. Could make a habit out of if and get read really easy in a fight. Personally, I'd mix it up a bit more. Maybe start with a kick or knee here and there too.
