These Zwift Games races are next level. Never seen anything like it with regard to the constant push and zero let up. Great job staying with it for as long as you did and I am sure you will be back to your very best soon! 💪 🚲

Happy with the 5-10 min power, but I probably should’ve dialed it back to avoid the pain later! Unfortunately, that’s just not how my brain works in-race 😅

Awesome push at the top of the Titans KOM to grab onto that pack. You’re getting much better at sitting in a fast pack. It takes a lot of touch to be efficient especially in rollers
@CaedmonCycling
@CaedmonCycling 8 ай бұрын
Thanks Roy! Yeah, I haven’t quite figured out efficiency in rollers yet. I try to get some rest on downhills, but it’s a dangerous game of getting 1-2 seconds of rest while making sure to maintain speed into the next uphill.

@@CaedmonCyclingUnderstand that. My view is, that one will only get stronger with better and faster riders. It is how i moved up in cat C and now working hard to be in the front group of B.

Great race , sorry about that group getting away 2km to go, I was sat on front pulling the group behind yours back and thought maybe we catch another group if i keep going but didn't see you fall off back that why I messaged incase the guys behind caught up , that was a super fast start I avg 4.4wkg for first 10mins of race everyone pushed hard all race , great racing
@CaedmonCycling
@CaedmonCycling 8 ай бұрын
Hey thanks! I saw your message at the end which gave me some extra energy to push and keep the group behind away 👍 that was a rough race. I averaged 3.83 wkg the first 10 minutes which was my best ever. Just didn’t have anything left to give after that 😅

@CaedmonCycling I was doing a workout and race in one so 3x10 at z4 stated with front group until climb then was in second group and when I had to do my first 10 mins recovery I flew out the back I did love streaming is very odd to watch but the group I was in took advantage for the 10mins I was pulling to your group , yeah I wasn't going to sprint and ruin my workout so when they sprinted away from me I saw you and 2 guys a few seconds back was hoping you'd neat them to line , it's a very hard course because you do burn matches on that climb near start great racing and 3.83 for full race is great I have no clue what I did but I know the 10mins for zone 1 ruined it haha

Way to Suffer Caedmon 🥵🚴‍♂️… I was in the same Boat… 9 of the top 10 in my Group B’s (86) were all 4.0wkg’s or higher… The start was a Crazy Crazy Suffer Fest for Me… I too finally Grenade’d and just popped! Fell into a Group I could ride with and came in 46th… I just treat it as a Training Ride, and a Learning Lesson… When the Big Guns come out for these Races it’s just going to Hurt really really Bad ! 🤔😢🥵🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚴‍♀️

Sounds like your front chainring is sawing into your frame when you’re out of the saddle.
@CaedmonCycling
@CaedmonCycling 8 ай бұрын
Yeah, it’s a bad sound. It’s the chain rubbing on the front derailleur. I’ve tried to realign it, but haven’t had success fixing it. I even took it into two bike shops that say it’s aligned correctly. I’m thinking it might be the chainring itself that’s bent a bit. Just speculating because I haven’t been able to solve it.
@RoyImahara

@@CaedmonCyclingI’m thinking your frame is flexing. I wouldn’t worry too much about it because it only happens when you really push hard. Are you using Sram or Shimano? What grade? 105, Force? I had lots of issues with rubbing and dropped chains with Sram. I swapped the front derailleur to Shimano and it’s so much better.
@CaedmonCycling
@CaedmonCycling 8 ай бұрын
Hey Roy! It’s shimano 105. I think the chain has some right/left flex to it when under significant tension. So it scrapes the front derailleur on my right pedal stroke every time

Hey, I hope you're ok? I've noticed a dip in your performances lately! You're usually a beast!! Zwift racing is tough, but your HR seems pretty close to being maxed out all of the time. Are you fuelling and carb-loading enough???

@davidmcdowell2788 I like @CaedmonCycling I know he works hard! It's just with his experience and power his numbers are below what he's capable of. I've watched his races for a few months now, and I can see something is off 🤔🤷🏾‍♂️

Hey, thanks for the comments! I think the main difference has just been a decrease in number of races and time on the bike. It’s hurt my endurance recently, and my HR has been higher because it’s generally more recovered. As always, will continue working, it’s all part of the process!

It's none of my business, and you don't need to reply. But have you had a full cardiovascular workup? Fitness is different from function. I'm old enough to be your father, and my advice is to make sure everything is working as it should! My wife made me check mine before I was allowed to run ultras.

Hey, thanks for checking in! I do normal check-ups and have a whoop that monitors RHR, respiratory rate, HRV, blood oxygen, etc. All is pretty normal there. But I haven’t ever done a full heart checkup before, like an EKG or ECG. Might be worth looking into if I’m going to continue with longer cycling events!
