Freestyle wrestling is one of the two styles of wrestling contested at the Olympic Games, Greco-Roman being the other. This Olympic sport has a long history and is known for its physical strength, endurance and technical finesse.
In freestyle wrestling, unlike Greco-Roman style, athletes can use their entire body to control and defeat their opponent. It is allowed to use both the arms and the legs to perform attack and defense techniques. This versatility often makes freestyle wrestling a spectacular and dynamic competition that fascinates spectators. 🤼

sorry I'm an amateur how can I tell the difference between roman Greek and free style they both look identical to me I always thought of free style as the pro wrestling thing

i'm not really a fan of either style, so i can't explain the intricate differences, but the biggest difference is that in greco-roman you are only allowed to contact your opponent above the waist, but in freestyle you can attack all parts of your opponents body as well as you your legs to sweep and what not.

@@user-yn1sf9mq3zIf I'm not mistaken I believe another key difference is no part of your body other than your feet can touch the mat in greco-roman. So for example, if you go for a single leg, your knee can't touch the ground when crossing the void. At least thats what I learned from Sanda, which I believe uses greco-roman rules.

In Roman Greek you are only allowed to attack the upper body with your hands so it’s basically like judo. But in freestyle wrestling you are allowed to attack the legs also

No, you can see that he tries to lock his legs. You are not allowed to do that in Greco. It was Freestyle match. There are throws in Freestyle as well.
