❗️❗️❗️85% of parrots are either resold, given away, or abandoned within just 2 short years of being purchased. ADOPT DONT SHOP! Rescues are full of these wonderful birds, neglected, abandoned, and thrown out by inexperienced and most uneducated people that didn't know the kind of work and commitment it takes to have birds. STOP UNNECESSARY BIRD BREEDING FOR PROFIT, and help these magnificent creatures.
If you are unable to adopt then please consider donating to a rescue/sanctuary that volunteers their time to help these animals in need. 💚
I cannot stress enough how heartbreaking this sad truth is.... Too many people impulse buy parrots because of cute or funny traits they've seen in other birds. ❗️No two parrots are alike...
A life stuck in a cage is cruel and so unfair to these magnificent beautiful creatures.
They deserve the absolute best!
So if you are interested in a parrot, please research, volunteer at a parrot rescue/sanctuary, KNOW what you're getting yourself into before you take on the work that comes with loving and homing a parrot.
Parrots are a LIFETIME commitment. They can live up to 80+ years!!
I've given up many many things to give my two parrots the best life they can possibly have! (Night out, gone on weekends, vacation time, a clean quiet house, extra money.. Etc.)
But to me it's all worth it, my parrots are my family and I love them like my children!
Please DO YOUR RESEARCH before adopting.
After all, we have our friends, our jobs, and our hobbies...
They only have us💗❗️❗️

I felt like he was maybe trying to say that he doesn’t understand why everyone else in the house - even the dog, all get to roam freely around the house, wherever & whenever they want to go (& that he should also be allowed to walk around freely all the time, too; but that he has to stay locked up in his (relatively) tiny cage sometimes?😢 Either that or he could be telling her he’s lonely when no one’s at home or asking why no one else ever talks to him besides her?☹️🤔

I love how he looks so content, with his feathers puffed up around his beak. It's funny to see his beak and tongue move while he talks, mumbles, and thinks out loud. Then looks at you with those sweet intelligent eyes. He's such a character!

What an amazing bird. He has 2 distinct personalities. One is like a very young sweet autistic child who needs constant reasurance. Just happy go lucky. With a very loveable personality. Who loves and wants to be around the members of his flock. The other is a very sophisticated and grown up man. Who knows exactly whats going on and is able to articulate his thoughts and feelings vocally. He can be short and to the point this personality comes forward in times of stress. This is classic split personality. What ever abuse that he endured was so great it shattered his mind to protect himself he created this other personality. This one was strong and the opposite of his main one. Its not helpless and its able to deal with stress. This beautiful bird created this so that he might protect himself from the abuse that he had to deal with. Ive seen it in humans. But a bird! What an amazing bird he is. Incredibly smart. He is a survivor. What a great mother and team you and your flock make.

Birds like Cockatoos can remember words and phrases said in the past. So It's possible Gotcha still remembers this. He was a rescued cockatoo from one of the videos I watched about him.

Different pitches and loudness use the throat differently. Birds have a range of loud and quiet squawks, so it's only natural that one can co-opt that ability... And this is the result. My sun conures don't speak very well, but they mumble a whole heck of a lot.

What makes channels about birds special is it is so much more visible to see if a bird is in major amounts of stress or not. The lack of plucked out feathers shows Gotcha is in a loving home. So I respect you beyond understanding.

We can hear what we want in the mumblings but I don't think much of it has intrinsic meaning to the bird. The bird doesn't have knowledge of what all the phrases mean. Gotcha clearly has no clue what the internet is or what instagram means. But it is fascinating to listen to them talk.
