We churned butter and ice cream in Rock Hill SC, where I was born. We sold butter to the Indians. We lived next to the only Indian reservation there was, and we had for our sitter an elderly Indian woman named Ina, and she chewed snuff in her bottom lip n spit it out in a can. I kid you not , just thought I'd share that with you 👍😁 Loved the video Tessi 🐦 I was only 5 when we moved from there, but I still remember a lot. They were Catawba Indians

haha ! When I sent you those molds, I was thinking Soap Molds or Gelatin Molds . But you outsmarted me & used them for butter ! Yep, they came from the Thrift Store, which I miss dearly with all this going on. Roger & I were just talking about Goodwill being closed here ~ just when so many people are in need of great bargains. I made some butter from my heavy whipping cream recently & stopped the mixer @ the whipping cream stage & took some out for my strawberries, then finished it into butter ! I would love to find some cream reduced like that ! I bought 2 Lemon Verbena plants today @ the Farm Co Op & they were $4.29 each for very small pots !

Tessie, I want to thank you. I enjoy all your videos but this one came at the best time! We had purchased more heavy cream than we could use before it would go bad and I was trying to decide what to do with it. I just finished making butter using my stand mixer and OMG it is so delicious! Hubby was very impressed and we are both excited to know that we never have to waste heavy cream again if we find ourselves with too much. Thanks again, Tessie.

Great video Tessie, I think all the old implements that go with butter making are fascinating, I have some old wooden butter pats that were used to shape the butter pats.

How long does homemade butter last in the fridge Tessie, and what kind of salt would you recommend if you prefer it salted? Thank you so much, I had no idea how to make butter. I guess it’s because I am a real City girl lol! I find all of your videos to be a learning experience, and I am enjoying each and every one of them! Have a lovely evening and please stay safe!💕

I would add no more than 1/4 tsp Himalayan salt and it will last about 4 weeks in the Fridge

When my 3 adult children were little we would occasionally make butter while a loaf of bread was baking in the oven I wanted my children to understand milk& butter comes from cows, nit the grocery store.

I knew butter could be made from heavy cream, but it was fascinating to actually see it done. Now, if you were to store that butter in the freezer, what would you do? Wrap it in parchment? Waxed paper? Plastic wrap? Or something else? Fun video. Thanks!
