Can’t stand the hate for Butterfly Effect. We only saw it with the director’s ending, and the meaning is not the one given here. He didn’t kill himself in the womb because his time travelling had messed things up. He did it because he realised (as his father and grandfather had) that he was never meant to have lived at all, and the thing that was wrong was HIM being in the world. Unlike his grandfather and father, he actually managed to end the whole cursed situation, killing the line of the wrongfully born. It’s a pretty good film, and doesn’t deserve the trashing it gets.
@johnwrath36122 жыл бұрын
What's interesting about that alternate ending is that Ashton Kutcher has a twin brother who has cerebral palsy, a condition which can literally be caused by the umbilical cord wrapping around the neck and cutting off blood flow to the brain during birth. There are other causes, it's often unknown specifically what causes the injury but that is one possible cause. I could totally see that making someone feel guilty about their own birth. You turned out healthy but your brother ends up with brain and heart damage. I wonder if he pushed for that ending because of the real life parallels. I still thought the movie sucked, but that part is interesting.

My dude, no one is arguing that the story isn't good. It's a great concept, but the butterfly effect movie we got was piss poor in execution. However on the other side the time travelers wife. Great execution, piss poor story.

I personally didn't like the movie but that's just because I couldn't get into it. The movie and concept behind it was great and gave a strong likelihood of what would happen if people could go back and change mistakes they made. It changes every event after and not always for the better.

Fun caveat to The Butterfly Effect one: earlier in the movie, he explains his mother's overprotectiveness by explaining that she had several miscarriages before she had HIM. That begs the question how many other children have made the same decision Evan did?

There is no justification for Moonfall. It's idiotic beyond words and those who read the script and said, yeah this sounds reasonable need to be sent back to middle school so they can learn about science, gravity and astronomy because they obviously weren't paying attention the first time. If this movie had Vin Diesel and Jason Statham in it would make more sense because they obviously don't believe in physics or scientific principles.
