Disagree with Ikaris being on here. I saw it as Ikaris couldn’t live with either killing Sersi or betraying Arishem which would create conflict so he remembered Sprite creating stories that include him flying into the sun and gave him an ‘out’. Plus being on Twitter many thought it would be Druig to be the villain so Ikaris being the villain actually did pull a punch.
@kadosho022 жыл бұрын
Same feels on this one. It felt like he was a puppet on strings, he possibly made a deal with his creator (it may not be established that he couldn't) but to save the others, he probably took a pact unbeknownst to be a puppet causing death and destruction, betrayal, and possibly the end of existence. The turn around being, he had to become something he dispised. Aside from the creatures evolving, being one of the Eternals does not come without risk or sacrifice, even for the greater good. Plus what we learn later, everything falls apart within all of them. But a chance to help save humanity, his flight to the sun saves others from a worse fate that he brought unwillingly. Also Arishem is known to manipulate and control within the cosmic universe. Making his creations puppets is not out of the question. Free will is a gift. Until broken.

A good twist is one where, when it's first revealed, the viewer thinks, "OMG, never saw that coming," and then, on a second viewing, "Oh, so THAT'S why that happened. It all makes sense now." I don't think plot twists need to always be surprising and unexpected. Yes, it's great when a plot twist catches you off-ward and you can see the threads pointing in that direction in hindsight. But a plot twist you can see coming because the author laid it out for you can also be satisfying, in the sense that you're waiting for it. Ofc this all assumes that they are properly written, it just bothers me that people say a plot twist is bad only because they saw it coming.

I'm sorry, but if you're only real complaint about a plot twist is that it's unlikely then it isn't a bad plot twist. One of the main reasons we watch movies to see things that are unlikely or impossible in our real world lives, complaining about that is like complaining about movies as a whole. Now I'm not saying that the twist in AWAKE was amazing but I do not think it deserved a spot on this list and definitely not number 3.

I don't usually watch videos by people who was only claim to fame is complaining about movies since they actually never made one. but I had to watch this one. never again.

Detective Schenk being the killer was so predictable. The fact that his “death” happened off screen when all the other deaths were shown was a dead giveaway

During the Eternals I made the joke "Is he going to fly into the sun superman style?" and not 10 seconds later Icarus did it and I lost my shit. That movie was so predictable and just bleh. Karun was the best in that movie.

‘Unforgivable’ is just a live adaptation of that episode of ‘The Simpsons’ when Mr. Burns gets shot, and it turns out it was Maggie who shot him. 🤣😂

I thought The Unforgiveable twist was bad for a different reason. The justice system wouldn’t jail a five year old for killing the sherif in that scenario, so there was no need to take the fall.

Here in the States, depending on which state, it might. Texas, for example.

For The Virtuose, I don't think Hopkins being the bad guy was supposed to be a twist, the moral of the story was for the Protag to overcome his own fears/failures and move on. He does so at the end, but is still killed. Now the new girl who killed him will have to go through the same journey with Hopkins (the one who failed to overcome).

I didn't think the Saw franchise thought they could do goosebumps twists anymore I thought they just played it straight with the twist being the last trap

The plot twist in the John Cusack movie ‘The Factory’ is one of the dumbest things I’ve had to bear witness to. Make absolutely no sense at all.

Sort of feels like every entry on this list boils down to "It didn't do the twist as good as some other movie with a similar twist, therefore it sucked"

Honestly, I will watch Anthony Hopkins read a grocery list and consider it an honor.

I just watched "The woman in the house across the street from the girl in the window" on Netflix and its the exact same "The woman in the window" expect the lady's child dies in a horrible decision to take your kid to work day and husband divorced her how she's grieving and the killer is a 9yr.

I may be one of the few, but I loved the twist at the end of Sweet Girl.

I disagree with sweet girl I loved the twist yes there opportunities that could have made it better but I still didn't expect the ending

I’d add last night in soho to this list, the movie was intriguing until it decided to force an unnecessary twist that made the framework of the film seem... so ridiculous. Beautifully shot tho

The movie Awake was very weird, it felt like an unfinished film, incomplete with keys scenes to explain the overall story missing. Like the solar flare or whatever happens, then the next few scenes are already people seemingly ok with no one being able to sleep, then a couple of days people just suddenly turn crazy... It was badly directed

I think "Awake" is cool because it's like a computer that freezes and has to be restarted.

Regarding Eternals: you obviously didnt pay attention to the damn movie....i watched it on my birthday and had to keep pumping caffiene into my body just to stay awake from the snorefest, Ikaris did what he thought he needed too because he was PROGRAMED too, the eternals are not flesh and blood, they are machines made to do their creators bidding, theyre basically angels, and obviously the eternals movie is about FREEWILL and sacrifice, and the ever growing question: are humans worth saving: and no we are not XD

The Woman in the Window was a novel first - I thought the twist was good when I read it, maybe your only complaint is the execution in the acting?

I respectfully disagree with the Spiral one. Yes it was a bit predicable but I think that was the point. And I congratulate them for not trying to repeat what they did in the past, like they did in Jigsaw. It works better. Sure they could've fixed it a bit better and try to work it in better, but I think for what else they accomplish, the kills and the traps, gave the movie enough of a leg to stand on with the other SAW movies.
