You can practically spend no money on food. Also if you're staying at a disney hotel/ resort they provide transportation to the parks. I wouldn't worry about bringing a car or rental, that's incredibly insane on how much money you have to spend pn parking. Take advantage of your fast pass, if you're with a group of people everyone will get different times when you reserve a time on the disney world app. I believe you get a two hour time limit at long everyone chooses around the same time you can go on rides at the same time. i get it. you're definitely not getting the full range of experiences. on the other hand, having literally just done this, i think you should consider how much you get done on a normal trip vs. how much we just got done with 25% (or whatever it was) capacity. there were zero issues at the airport coming or going. we got to pick the room we wanted at the hotel we wanted, even though we made the reservation two weeks before we went. the longest line in any park THE WHOLE TRIP was 25 minutes. for example, we rode 17 attractions in MK even though we went in an hour late and left an hour before closing - so eight hours - and we sat for lunch. Space Mountain was a walk-on, at 4 in the afternoon - that's not a rope-drop-slip-on-wet-pavement-and-nearly-crash-rounding-the-bend-in-tomorrowland-terrace-holy-crap-that's-a-longer-sprint-than-i-remembered-first-guest-of-the-day walk-on, or skipping-the-fireworks almost-a-walk-on, but a casual, leisurely stroll at four in the afternoon, and i got my very own train, all to myself, and i've got photos of it. We saw more characters than we have ever seen, on any day, ever, thanks to cavalcades (we saw five of these mini parades without even trying), and atop the back of the castle, and atop the back of the train station, and atop the country bears, and chip and dale on a raft by tom sawyer's island. We got reservations in every restaurant we wanted to eat at, at the time we wanted, changed two of those the day of the reservation, didn't have to rush for a fast(er) pass, or settle for a fast pass on an attraction we didn't care about, didn't have to rush to the parks to get in on the first monorail/launch/bus so we could get a couple of rides in before the thundering horde arrived. i miss fireworks, and staying in until we are the last guests in the park, and after-hours parties, and crowds of people that are all having a great time. i do. HOWEVER, if it was christmas/new year's/halloween/easter/spring break/normal summer, we would have hit fewer than half as many attractions in each park in more time. Three fast(ish) passes (ten to fifty minute wait, each) plus two two-hour waits plus three one-hour waits puts you at 8 attractions in ten or so hours. We did 17 attractions in 8 hours. it was a great trip, and just like i would do the utterly insane mob of humanity that is christmas, or NYEE, or New Year's Eve in EPCOT, or Halloween, we would completely go again, today.

@@MissMyMusicAddiction This. I recently went to Disney. This is the first time in about 3 years that I have been able to ride every ride at Epcot, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom. We usually have to split our days throughout the year. We never did meet and greets. And the parades we used them to rush to busier rides (Big Thunder, Dwarves, and Space mountain). Fireworks we used as a way to dash out of the parks before the massive crowds made their way to out. As a Florida resident, there is more leeway to what I can do, compared to people flying in from out of state. Not having to wait 2 1/2 hours for pandora or patiently waiting for 10-15 minutes until someone got out of their table so you can have lunch is worth the full price ticket especially being able to ride everything in under 4 hours or go on rides I haven't been on in years.

Here to defend Be Our Guest breakfast, but only from a tip I read in a comment section once. You can order off the kid's menu! Our group of 11 (6 adults, 5 kids) ate for under $20 each, in June 2019. Unlimited muffins & danish (took a couple in our purses to go), and coffee to go. Especially for this breakfast, where you order on the app before, no one is checking or no one cares about adults ordering a kid's menu meal. I can't post the photo of our order in this comment, but we got: 11 Scrambled eggs de Maurice: $15 each (eggs and fruit; skip the French toast cuz baked sweets are included) 5 Adult Hot Beverages: $3.29 each (unlimited self-serve coffee, tea, and maybe something else; idk, not a coffee drinker. I enjoyed the chocolate milk that came included with each Maurice meal) 4 The Master's Cupcakes: $4.99 each (We wanted The Grey Stuff! Great photo op! It was delicious!) $201.41 TOTAL (11 people fed) PLUS, I didn't even max out the other "freebie" of this breakfast. If you book this meal for a time before the park opens, you leave and get in line to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train before rope drop. If Be Our Guest breakfast comes back, I'll consider an early reservation the next time we're in the parks. The food is decent, nothing too special. But also not too heavy, to start your day at the park. The multiple rooms in the castle are special. Great photos! For $20 you can get a decent breakfast, really special photos of the rose etc., and maybe even early access to Magic Kingdom (7 Dwarfs or your other favorite ride; save a FastPass). I wouldn't categorize all that as a total ripoff. Thanks!

When I was a kid (13 y.o.) I could afford to go to WDW on a paper boy’s income. (< $50 a week). The daily pass was $16 and this also allowed for travel between parks from EPCOT to The Magic Kingdom. Disney has become so incredibly expensive. It’s sold it’s soul in the pursuit of profits.

I have often wandered if "Kurt Russell" writen by Walt, was his thinking of a "face and personality" to replace him. Roy was the money man, but he didn't have the right "presentation" to front Disney. Kurt at that age would have been idea for the role. Just a thought.

@@jillybean1506 Based on documentaries and other insights, Walt was a very fun, imaginative guy. He was all about ingenuity, he coined the term animatronic, and the title Imagineer. He always wanted to make the best things he could with the best quality possible, he pioneered so many technologies because of this. Full color animated movies was NEVER done before Snow White, let alone to that level of quality for it's time. Walt had a way of putting the cart before the horse in the sense of imagining up and idea and then figuring out how to bring it to life. He CARED about his work, always wanting the best he could do, wanting to WOW his audiences. The problem he had was money. His ambitions were always big, but his wallet not so much. But the other thing about him was that he CARED about his employees. He hated being called Mr Disney, he always had them call him by his first name because he saw everyone as friends and equals.

The Mickey Bars in the supermarket are awful compared to the real thing. The chocolate is milk not dark chocolate and the ice cream tastes like light ice cream rather than a rich vanilla. I totally get that ppl want the “full experience” in WDW and that includes a dining plan but for us (family of 5 that goes every other year), it’s just really not worth it. we bring frozen meals and non perishables, and we get a grocery delivery to our hotel. we make sandwiches for lunch in the park, bring our own snacks, and have wonderful homemade dinners in our resort. i really don’t understand how ppl can eat out for every meal, everyday. honestly i’d feel sick. not to say we don’t get any disney food because obviously we do. we just don’t spend an additional thousand or whatever on food when we can easily bring our own. plus it saves lots of time in the park not waiting in lines. as disney pros, trust us, you can still have an amazing time and the “disney experience” without a dining plan that you might not even fully use.
@blondie45124 жыл бұрын
Amen. I totally agree and even if we do go out to a restaurant we end up sharing meals because you do get a lot of food and who really needs to eat that much food. I mean do people go out to eat every day at home because if they do then they shouldn’t be complaining about prices at all.

Wait. About the Mickey Bars. yes, I know one at Disney costs just about as much as a box of them at Publix, but it's neat to watch the cast member pull the Mickey Bar out of the dry ice cooled cart first thing in the morning on a hot FL day and wait for the bar to crack as it hits the warm air. Totally worth it. If the cast member is really cool, sometimes they'll let you have a piece of the dry ice to throw in a fountain somewhere for loads of foggy fun :P
