Saddest thing about those 2017 Vikings is after the Minneapolis Miracle it looked like they would finally be the 1st team to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Instead they got throttled by Foles and the Eagles. Adding insult to injury 2yrs later Tampa became the first team to finally play a “home” Super Bowl followed by the Rams and both teams won, something the Vikings never did in their 4 SB appearances 🤣

You could throw the 2000 Ravens in there as well as their 2012 team. They were expected to be trampled by the Titans and Jaguars before the season began, they went 5 games without a TD, they changed QBs, they were underdogs in every playoff game including the Super Bowl, and yet they rode the greatest defense ever plus Shannon Sharpe and Jamal Lewis to a championship. That was definitely an unlikely champion.

From the games that I’ve seen, I would say it’s either the 2001 Patriots or 2007 Giants. The 1987 Redskins, they weren’t too big of a surprise, given the fact that in the previous season they had the 2nd best record and were tied for third in 1987, both Denver and Washington had similar regular season records, and don’t forget Washington had swept the defending champions in the regular season and had defeated a very tough Chicago team, so it wasn’t much of a surprise

Couple things abt 2017 Eagles. Doug & Wentz should still be Eagles. 3 playoff appearances in 4 years. 11 signed $128M contract then immediately got his replacement too soon & not a WR or OL. He was scapegoated. The injury bug hurt the team but they still won with bench players. Imagine if he had a healthy team! And the Vikings game was awesome but I hate the way Diggs celebrated. I would celebrate too but his was too egotistical “I meant to do that!” The Saints CB jumped the gun & took his teammate with him. 😂 sit down.
