Not sure if someone pointed this out already, but: Tip #7 If you hold OPT when dragging a file, it'll switch it to Move mode, and if you hold opt+cmd it'll create a shortcut. ;)

Thanks for sharing about not hiding the menu bar with full screen! I love using full screen on my second monitor for watching youtube or other video, and sometimes have my browser on full screen on a second monitor and the fastest way to check time or access it before was to swipe left to a new desktop as I run like 4 per monitor lol.

Just when I thought I knew everything there was to know, you just revealed some great new hidden tricks. Another thing I discovered through your tips is doing Command-tab to Preview (obviously needs to be open), then hit the up arrow and it shows a whole range of *previously* opened PDFs along the bottom of the desktop. Cool feature!

@@JeffSu I doubt it :) but I use the short keys for getting to Computer or Desktop in Finder e.g. Shift + Apple + C and Shift + Apple + D whilst in Finder (Others under Go in the top menu bar)

Nice tips, a few of those I've now added to my every day use and I never knew you could change the icons :). For the chrome full page screen shot, why not use the Chrom function, Option+CMD+I then you have to toggle the device toolbar to on, then select responsive from the device list, once here the 3 dots menu in the device toolbar has the option 'Capture full size screenshot'

LOVE the tip for changing the folder icons to something more interesting. Was wondering if you know how to change them though on the favourites column in the finder window? This is my go-to place for the folders I need - I changed one of the icons - it changed on the folder but not on the shortcuts (where I would really like it to so I can see folders more visually!) Any tips would be appreciated! Keep up the great work - love your videos!

The exact same way. For example if you plug in an external harddrive (like an SSD), try what I mentioned, it'll work!

hey jeff is it normal that my new MBA with M2 is consuming storage (type swap memory but without affecting the RAM) even without having installed anything? (especially in the "system data" and "macOS" section, which would be like the total weight of the entire OS) in 1 week it increased approx 15 GB (on august 26 when i turned it on for the 1st time it had 215 GB available and just as i write this there are already 198 GB left) aspect which causes me a lot of concern because in my old air from 2017 everything was perfect could it be that i am doing some movement/configuration wrong regarding my icloud and/or automatic backup? (upgraded from 5 GB free plan to 50 GB that same day) PS: my old MBA (128 GB - 8 GB RAM) i still have it logged in (but I don't use it anymore) do you think i need to forcefully erase everything and leave it factory so that my current M2 (256/8) no longer works? have that problem or is it more related to monterey 12.4? your knowledge and answer will help me a lot (it would also be very helpful if you make a related video about it)

Hi, thanks for the question! Without looking at your laptop I can't tell you exactly what the problem is but it seems the iCloud automatic backup is eating into your storage. You might want to bring it into an Apple shop

4:40 u can open all files at once in preview, then down arrow will work. Not quicker tho. What am I missing with regard to the screenshot stuff? I find the built in functions quick to use and comprehensive. Obviously they are not third party and have the choice to use their GUI or keyboard shortcuts. Only asking because I’ve not realised the usefulness of some apps in the past. Like Paste app (a clipboard manager but the best I’ve tried) for the Mac and iOS.

You mean for the full-page screenshot tip? Well let's put it this way: if you wanted to take a full-page screenshot of a webpage right now, how are you currently doing it?

@@JeffSu ​@Jeff Su Hey thanks for your reply, more on the third-party app requirements mentioned by your viewers. There are multiple ways to do this in Safari without third-party apps (including Google Chrome). First, the easy and quickest answer is basically the same way you did but using Safari (more secure than Chrome). 1. Use “CMD Shift I” to open the web inspector. 2. Locate the line of HTML required. 3. Right-click the line of HTML. I use a two-finger tap but for those without a trackpad or two-button mouse use the control-click method. 4. Choose “screenshot” from the drop-down menu. Admittedly full-page screenshots involve more steps if you can zoom out but I find "CMD Shift 3, 4, and 5" gives me fast and easy access to the required screenshot tools. I imagine there are use cases for full-page PNG screenshots, but I have yet to discover these. When I require full pages, I use “Export to pdf” with the "CMD E" keyboard shortcut I set up in System Settings > Keyboards > Keyboard Shortcuts AKA as System Preferences in older versions of macOS. For other uses, I have a shortcut for converting PDFs to PNGs. Users could automate this whole process to save on purchasing more apps and for those who don’t like the dev tools options. It would look something like this: 1. Create a keyboard shortcut for export to pdf. 2. Assign a dedicated folder for exports. 3. Automate exported PDFs to convert to PNGs with shortcuts or Automator. 4. Move or copy the PNGs to their screenshots folder location. Effectively once set up, a simple keyboard shortcut like mine “CMD E” would get the job done. Sounds a lot but is pretty straightforward to set up. If I can find the time, I will see if I can create an automation that is shareable. Cheers.

Hey.. U can take full size screenshot by pressing F12 in chrome, then on right side three dots, You’ll find TAKE FULL SIZE SCREENSHOT option. It’s much simpler than u showed. 🙏🏻😇

I'm confused as to why I haven't seen anyone on youtube mention Hyperkey. Instead of modifying Caps Lock to do nothing or act as another key, why not make it so it simulates CTRL+ALT+CMD? Which will basically give you a new modifier. Then you also get another convenient shortcut build with Shift+Caps Lock. As you're probably not using any shortcuts that are assigned to CTRL+ALT+CMD. I will mention though, that there are shortcuts assigned to these modifiers, such as Sort By Name etc in Finder, which you can just override in Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts -> App Shortcuts. So to make for example Caps Lock+1 work you'd need to override these
