At the current stage of EV development, electric cars are usually used for city commuting. With this in mind, some manufacturers decided to shrink their vehicles to bare minimum and wrap them in the smallest bodies possible. Would you like to own a vehicle like that to go grocery shopping or travel within the city?

I wish these smaller, electric cars were more popular where I live so they'd be easier to find one to buy. I live in Texas, with so many huge trucks. Smaller vehicles are more practical for everyday use, like running to the store or visiting a friend. Because I am 4'10 (1.47m) , they are also more comfortable for me to drive than a large vehicle. When I first had my eye on electric cars they were priced around $70,000 or more. It's so nice to see there are more affordable options. With so many choices, I had to re-watch the video. For my needs I liked both the Microlino and E-Go Life.

My wife, daughter and myself do nearly all city driving. Range is not an issue for everyone. Our cars are parked most of the time and sit outdoors. If any solar charging is available, that might be all we need as all of use commute >2 miles then cars sit in parking lots for 9 hours under the sunlight. Small radius turning, ease of parallel parking are great features. I would love to see rust resistant materials as the north east USA puts tons of salt on the streets for nearly half of the year.

@@automotiveterritory I bought it in September 2020 for $11K from a GM dealer 142 miles from home that had only 11K miles on it. Car is like new, no degradation in range from new and in fact during the warmer months I'd typically see closer to 90 on a charge and that's at or above the speed limits and dealing with all the hills around Pittsburgh PA. With 140hp and 357lb ft of torque it's the mini Cooper S I could never afford. I'm 6 ft tall and I have lots of space and has room in back for 2 adults so package wise it seems very similar to the E Up. I know I could've spent close to $9K especially if I lived on the west coast. I just turned 70, my other car is a 2004 Pontiac GTO (Vauxhall Monaro), and I enjoy driving the Spark just as much. I think the city/urban sized EVs are a perfect match especially for those of us who are retired now and drive mostly very short trips to the store although I'll be doing more pleasure driving this year to replace my motorcycle for those head clearing rides 😀 👍

The renault Twingo z.e. Isn’t the second electric car from Renault. They still build the Zoe. But i don’t know if they still build the Kangoo z.e.

Great idea. By the next 5 years 100% of vehicles are going to be electric which is excellent for the environment

It may take a bit longer than that. Some countries have announced their intentions to allow the sales of EVs only starting from 2030-2035.

@@automotiveterritory awesome .. I would'n mind to have one as a gift from Citroen.. :-D .. I'm sure it's exterior will find the ideal balance between shape and functionality through time by listening to people's feedback. also, have a look at Kia's concept design to rival Citroen's Ami. thanks / best !!

These micro cars could get smaller if you take the seat out and make people stand up while they're driving. Or how about driving while sitting on the Hood wearing raincoat

My Wife has a December 2018 Smart car for 2 people. Only 4000 miles on clock in uk. On 5 occasions it has lost all power gone completely dead. At this time it's in the Mercedes workshop again for a week whilst all electrics stripped down and tested to try to find this fault, which could result in a fatal rear end collision. Any suggestions please?

I can only suggest an obvious solution to stick with a trusted Mercedes service center and fully restore the vehicle

How long does this charge do you think is going to take?
@bernardfender51474 жыл бұрын
Ohh lordy lordy!! The prices are eye wateringly high. ORA start at £7k for a "proper" car. Chang Li start at 1200£! for a 2 seat "golf cart" type run around. You can get an original bug converted to EV for less than 7k
@automotiveterritory4 жыл бұрын
Do those cars that you mentioned provide similar specifications for a lower price?
@bernardfender51474 жыл бұрын
@@automotiveterritory I would say the ORA does yes, as long as extras are not important to you. The Chang Li, no, but if money is tight, they are a perfectly reasonable option, rather like the Twizzy but half the price!

I think there is a huge market for very low priced (£5000) 2 -4 seaters very small ev cars, just for going for shopping, pick up kids to n fro schools. No need big batteries, just normal 3 pins charge at home. max speed of 50mph, low insurance.

While these are cute to look at, I personally don't think these cars should exist. They take up more space compared to the amount of passengers and cargo carried. Cars shouldn't be made smaller than the VW POLO.
