Hey I played Alleyway recently on the Gameboy NSO when it came out. It's super fun and gives a different pace from when we play first party games like Mario platformers.

The Gold Mario statue was also seen in “BS Super Mario USA”, a version of the US SMB2 where random mechanics occur, and you collect Gold Mario statues for extra lives. Also, the Super Mario Bros. Super Show had an episode where Bowser becomes “Koopzilla”, much like how SimCity has Bowser in this situation.

In Captain Rainbow you can also fish a blooper. And then there's a portrait of Mario himself hanging inside Crazy Tracy's house, alongside Link from Legend of Zelda, because those are are two guys she considers "real men". Nick has to do everything he can to get Takamaru (the protagonist from the Famicom game Nazo no Murasamejo) to overcome his fear of women and get him and Tracy together (after which Takamaru's portrait joins those of Mario and Link above her throne).

so for the 1st game with the mario statue if you listen closely you can hear the song that plays when you grab the flag at the end of mario bros 1... also most of the early GB games have mario for anything... tetris has the bros as vs icons.. tennis hes ref, baseball same, even the nes has his huge career going on too in not just smb games...
