I would recommend to buy Ben's "How To Practice" bundle to anyone who wants to be able understand the guitar neck and develop a fluency as an improviser over changes. These books changed EVERYTHING for me, as I also recommend them to my students.

Yeah Ive also heard people say you shouldn't do more then 4 hours but I feel like its not enough if you trying to develop drastic results. For me personally extended hours are not maintainable over a long period of time but used to absorb a ton of information as quickly as possible. Its a huge achievement to do 6 years of extended practice and you can definitely hear it in your playing.

Hi Ben, I was wondering if you've ever gone into George Garzone's Triadic Chromatic Approach. I think it would be a fun topic for you to cover on a video plus with your skills and ear I'd love to hear you play in that style. I've seen you in videos playing live and when you go off it reminds me of that. I've been watching your videos for awhile, you've really gotten me to practice triads more recently, mainly triad pairs, I've always been a scale guy haha. I've been having a really fun time exploring the fingerboard visualizing triads instead of scales. Wish you the best and thanks for sharing your work.

Hi Ben, great video! How do you keep yourself physically fit when you practice for that much time? I found that when I practice for a long period of time I get a lot of issues with my back and forearms. Any tips on that? All the best, Kosta

even after 20+ years i still struggle with a realistical practise plan. I have wasted so much time on execises that do not take care of musical aspects, just technique, but my technique has progressed very slowly. And i practised things that i might not need very often , have not much to do with what i want to play. But i was convinced that if i am able to master all the techniques i will be able to play everything. Another mistake was and still is to get stuck too long with one exercise and waste time which results in frustration when my pratise time is suddenly over . Any good advice? Thank you!
