We've been to the 50's Sit com restaurant a couple times and enjoyed it a lot. You know you're basically getting comfort food going in so a lack of adventurous options wasn't a big shock. One place you didn't mention was Whispering Canyon. One of my favorite places to have a meal at Disney. It can get pretty boisterous but we loved it.

when we ate at Coral Reef in May we got to sit right next to the window which was awesome. The food was pretty good IMO but the best thing was my daughter has allergies and the chef came to the table and planned a special meal just for her. Very nice. I know most places will do this at Disney but he was especially nice at going over exactly what she would like.

We walked into the dining hall at Pop Century & saw them preparing the sandwiches. Incredibly tasty! Now, we'll always be watching for & asking about off-menu items that might be a standout meal.

Sci-fi Dine-In Theater is our FAVORITE. We’ve been going to Disney every couple years since I was a kid and it’s a tradition. If they ever get rid of it I’ll be crushed. We’ve gone so much that we can speak the movie lines as they’re playing on screen 😂 Never had an issue sharing a car with another family since the booth seating is so separated anyway and the atmosphere is so fun. Highly recommend. SO GLAD I saw this before making reservations for our upcoming trip because I was super confused about the Oga’s Cantina situation. I thought it was a restaurant but couldn’t figure out why all the pictures I saw of it had people standing. Thank you for clarifying!!

Went to Oga’s in Disneyland a few months ago and we got a same day reservation. For me it was a fun little experience to get a cocktail but I probably wouldn’t go again. Doesn’t seem worth the wait and we also had to stand. If you do end up going and the premixed drinks don’t have enough alcohol for you ask for “jet fuel” it’s a fun little secret menu item they have it’s basically a shot .

I can’t believe I’m saying this but I am skipping out for the first time on the character dining this trip. Specifically the breakfast. The character dining used to feel like i was killing two birds with one stone. I was able to see the characters, while getting in an essential meal, without having to wait in the line to the parks. What I loved about it is that I can get exclusive photo ops in clothing I wouldn’t wear in the park (for comfort etc) then I could change and go to the park.sadly because of covid restrictions I don’t think it’s worth it. I am all for keeping the characters safe but for me personally I go for the hugs and autograph book so I can fill it with Polaroids from the breakfast. I am not swearing them off. I will be the first in line for when restrictions are lifted!

We wound up standing entire time and it was absolutely miserable. I don’t understand why they can’t at least put small stools in or have a few spare stools available for people that need them at least! To be fair we went back during the pandemic when everything was still distancing at Disney and they were seating everyone at that time, but I believe they’re back up to capacity now so back to no seats for most people.

Hey AJ, can you help discuss walk ups? I attempted to get an ADR 60 days out, and naturally it’s booked. Ended up getting an ADR for a different restaurant but noticed that the place I want to eat at has a “walk up” option that fills up later in the day. I don’t want to cancel my ADR at the other place because I want to eat somewhere, but if my family gets to do standby, something you can’t do till the day of, will we be charged the cancellation fee? Should we cancel our ADR in person, or just check in then leave?
@RvBnerd6182 жыл бұрын
As mentioned, it's best to look at the cancellation policy with the restaurant you've made a reservation for. Rule of thumb is cancelling a day prior to when your party will arrive is a safe bet to avoid cancellation fees, it would also be worth calling the establishment if you are curious about how they handle it. I think if you were to go in and then leave, you'd still be slapped with the cancellation fee, so you might as well just cancel in advance depending on the day you've booked it.
