@Thommadura3 жыл бұрын
I have been going to Disney since the Empress Lily Opened before the Parks did and I drive from 1100 miles away so on the drive I have no choice but to stop for something. Now it depends on why I am at disney whether I agree with you. When with my Grand or Great-grand kids we do the whole thing except the Hotels (I have always had a house in the area - my family lived on Anderson Street in Orlando and My great Aunt IS the storied Lucille who ran the counter at Woolworths downtown) However - If I am alone I rarely eat at disney. It is very expensive for an 84 year old retired person to justify alone. I always go to the Cape May Buffet - just like I always went to Broadway at the TOP but normally I eat Breakfast at home, early (6 am or earlier) take a snack about 11AM at the parks (Maybe only a piece of fruit) and then leave the parks and there are a few local restaurants that still have early bird specials (Generally around 4PM) that are worth it. One place HAD a complete Prime Rib Dinner including Appetizer, Salad, dessert and drink for $10) THEN I go back to the parks if they stay open - or to Jelly Rolls at night. I really miss Pleasure Island. I get more and longer trips to the place that way. I have done all the "special" dinners at one time or another already. WHile the meals have gotten better lately, there was a time when they were nothing I could not do better at home.

I love that DFB always says “you don’t have to listen to us- maybe that’s your thing” bc as an autistic I really love getting the exact same drink when I’m traveling as I do at home. It really helps when I step into the parks to have a familiar taste to ground me

I will say that as an autistic person I have my “safe foods” that I can always trust. I will try new things don’t get me wrong, but sometimes if I’m tired and sweaty and over stimulated I just want something I know I will like, even if it’s kind of boring.

I'm also autistic and I'm quite similar. I'm often scared to try new things but as a nut-allergic vegetarian, sometimes I have to if I want to eat. But yeah at the end of a long and stimulating day sometimes you just want to go to wherever is nearest and has pizza. (Also if its a particularly bad day and the menu is particularly rough, I will stoop to a fish and chips, which is more relevant in the UK)

The thing about PizzeRizzo (and all of Disney's puffy pizza) is kids love it and it can usually appeal to super picky eaters. Some kids would happily down a flatbread, but many wouldn't. I totally get why tired sunburnt parents wanting their kids to eat something other than chicken nuggets and not wanting to spend even more $$$ on their Disney vacation would go for PizzeRizzo. (This is how I feel about the Rainforest Cafe hate, too ... sometimes you do what you have to do to appease picky kids who can be super loud while dining out!) I will also admit to really enjoying Cosmic Ray's, lol. You nailed it, the food isn't stellar (though I think it's pretty decent for your basic fast food, tbh) but you can always find an open table and enjoy some AC. Hypothetical question: suppose you're taking your son someplace special for lunch or dinner and he's the same age as your daughter. Where do you take him, someplace macho so that he can see how guys in fancy costumes behave? For example, would you take him to the Biergarten for eating, singing, drinking, and dancing to German music; to the Japanese hibachi place for a fun display of juggling with knives; or to Gaston's Tavern to see how a bully like Gaston behaves towards people he despises? Now, take both son and daughter to Cinderella Royal Table; what does your boy take from the experience if he's too young for ogling princesses? If I go there, I'd go myself just for ogling Cinderella, especially the live-action movie version, not the animated character.

I think last time I went to disney we skipped cosmic rays, got some snacks at the snack place under the people mover, went on our next ride and then got something better for lunch.

Pizza Planet (in Disneyland) is the best, not for the food, but it’s just so calm eating there. It’s a needed recharge.

I’m almost surprised the Brown Derby wasn’t here. Now maybe we just had a bad experience but everyone in my party’s food was cold the wine reduction on my steak was bitter and the portions were ridiculously tiny.

I agree with Rainforest Cafe. It’s so expensive and the food is not all that great. My first time at Disney it was $130 for a party of three and it was food I definitely could have picked up from the Frozen aisle in the grocery store.

I think Be Our Guest should be on this list as well. We just ate there tonight, and it was really a mediocre at best experience. And the prices are $62 for adults, $37 for children. Our daughter's "made on premises" mac and cheese was dry. Mom and Dad's dinners were "OK", certainly not what you'd expect for the price. The desert trio was so sugary sweet it was inedible for us, and even for our daughter. We were in one of the side rooms, and you get maybe a 3 second glimpse of the Beast from where we were sitting - he only walks through part of the room (the part which we were not in). To be fair, the server comped our daughters dinner, but still it ended up $150 with tip for 3 people. To make matters worse, it was our daughters 6th birthday and our last day on the trip, so it was extra disappointing. We went to guest services, and the person at guest services wouldn't do anything and was frankly rude to us. What a bummer for the end of our week long trip. (edited for punctuation)

Before the pandemic Cosmic Rays starlight cafe had a free topping bar. Sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, onion, pickles. It was pretty impressive. We went last year and we didn’t see the topping bar (Damn Covid). I remember my first trip there with my wife for our honeymoon years ago. We were no where near better off financially than we are now so we were trying to pinch Pennys when we could at the time and I ended up making a big salad out of the free topping bar lol and I took a few bites of the burger my wife had.

San Angel Inn suffers from what I call “Blue Bayou Syndrome” (from the restaurant at Disneyland). It’s beautiful, but the food either doesn’t match up to the view or doesn’t justify the cost, which is a shame.

Skipper canteen was a huge disappointment. The menu was awkward. I ordered a chicken meal, it came out cold and the veggies were cold and made of rubber. I love Tony’s and my family and I have always enjoyed eating here.

I'm so glad the Living Seas isn't on here. That said, I highly recommend Yak and Yeti in Animal Kingdom and the British Pavilion in Epcot. Yak and Yeti has one of the BEST curry dishes I've ever tasted and the British Pavilion has the best Fish n' Chips.

I hope someone at Disney watches this and makes changes that reflect Disney’s standards. I remember going to dland CA when I was younger and no matter what I ate it was amazing. That being said I didn’t care what I was eating as long as it had Disney logo’s on it

OK, we ate at Cinderella‘s Royal table. Yes it’s pricey. The atmosphere is wonderful. My husband and I had the scallops and they were delicious! It was our granddaughter‘s fifth birthday so it was a special occasion for her. She loved decorating her own cupcake for dessert, The dinner was so so for her. But it’s a onetime experience.

Depending on the Restaurants that are at a Disney Hotel, the meals can run from Okay to Blah. However - Room Service takes forever at Disney and the likelyhood that your meal will be stone cold is something that -for the Astronomical price - I don't think I can justify. YOU might be better off getting delivery from some of the OUTSIDE Disney places that deliver to the Hotels.
@amberfraser17173 жыл бұрын

One word about room service meals at the Disney hotels: pizza. Lots of pizza from the on-property pizzeria. Concur with what somebody else posted: you'll be lucky your order arrives warm if not hot. Otherwise, be prepared to go to the hotel lobby and get your order from a Doordash, Grubhub, or Uber Eats driver, then take the food back to your room and eat it there.

Well, this is the first video I watched that had these lists and you were the first to nail it. I am a DVC member and I admit to eating at Cosmic Ray's, it's convenient and I like the piano guy GREAT AC, Tomorrowland Terrace was never opened when we went, I agree about the Starbucks, why do I want something I can get at home(?), and Cinderella Castle, been there, done that ain't doing it again. And that was when dinner was $35. We did enjoy Be Our Guest, IF you can get a reservation, get it. Side story, I tried for a solid yr to get reservations and couldn't. We drove down all night from PA, got to WDW about 9:30a.m. and had to wait for the Ale and Compass to open for brunch. We were seated, and the CM asked if we needed anything else. I blurted out as a joke, sure, reservations at Be Our Guest! Ten minutes later she came back and we had reservations. I thanked her profusely, went back to our resort and wrote a comment card thanking her again, thinking that would not get to her supervisor I called the Yacht Club, told them we are DVC members and also told them to make sure her supervisor knew we were very happy with her help. We are going back in March 2022.

As a LA native who loves the Los Angeles Farmer Market I am honestly offened at how bad the food is at Sunset Ranch Market. Los Angeles Farmers Market has some of best food in the city with unique flavors. When I went in Jan I was so confused and actually stood outside the market frowning at this horrible tribute to my favorite place.

The only time I've visited that Farmer's Market was in July '86 during a full-day tour of Hollywood that also included an afternoon at Universal Studios. I agree that they serve great food there, but they need more tables for people to eat the meals they buy there. I wish I had bought some strawberries for my fridge at the Hollywood Holiday Inn where I stayed during my time in Hollywood.

Love your channel and I agree with everything you said in this video aside from T Rex. Yes, it's outrageously expensive and loudly obnoxious, but their Tar Pit shrimp with seasoned waffle fries are the foods of my dreams. The tower of onion rings with sauces is divine, too. Just wear ear plugs and enjoy the fried goodness.
