I am 38 and by watching this dr I got to the comclusion that I started perimenopause. I might have starte earlier but delaing with Hashimotos it would have been hard to look another way but it is posisble that they chabges I have experienced that are not due to AI, not due to taking thyroid hormones for a year. But perhaps due to perimanopause. Before I had a very distinctive symptom of spotting for 1 day and then having period normally started 2 days later, that is when I was sure. But prior to that I have gained weight, my hair color darkened almost overnight, my nipple color is changing, I have this pesky dry skin and my period generally changed in the past 2 years

I was prescribed the lowest form Of birth control? Would that help with perimenopause?

Would love to make an appt. I had a really bad health scare about four months ago. It started with double vision turned out to be nothing, but it sent me spiraling. Since then, I’ve had panic attacks, shortness of breath and insomnia, which I’ve never experienced. Is there a way to lower my cortisol without getting on hormones? I did just turn 49.

My Dr said there’s no real way to test to see if you’re in menopause. Is that true?

When you no longer have a period is when you are officially in menopause I’ve been told

Currently that’s what is being said. Who knows what the future might bring

@@Star-333 it is actually 12 months from your last period. Menopause is 1 day and is 12 months from your last period. After that day you are considered post menopausal.

What about the period diarrhea, I've tried everything to stop it and those pain in the ass Prostaglandins that cause it and nothing works.... turning 49 next week, I'm counting down to full Menopause, been in Perimenopause for YEARS, most of my 40's and it has kicked my ass😣
