The music from Barry Lyndon was from the period too, as far as I can tell. It's all gorgeous. I remember seeing this movie in the theater (my parents took me to grown-up movies when I was just a kid, which was bad, but I did get to see some interesting films). I loved classical music because it was played around the house when I was little. This movie had lots of classical music and I was entranced! It was the first time I'd ever heard classical music in a movie. Also, some of the scenes were filmed with just candlelight, which proved difficult for the cameras to pick up, but Kubrick was undaunted. He also used a lot of natural light when filming outdoors.
