Xabi Alonso certainly has all the traits to become a great manager. I know he's recently retired and so isn't really eligable but deserves more of an inclusion than Terry or Evra really. He's already coaching u23 games for Sociedad after coaching Real Madrid's Castilla, has played under Guardiola, Mourinho, Ancelotti, del Bosque and Benetiz (all as a central and leading player) plus he speaks fluent English, Spanish, Portuguese and German and has experience playing and winning in three of Europe's top leagues. A good player, a player who understands tactics and can outwit his opponent & good man manager are three different attributes that may not come in all the players (post retirement) the lack of these qualifies can mean not being in the top 3. For example, KdB is good player, but his man management skills have not been great, SAF on other hand had good man management and had people like Whelan & Muelensteen to help him with the tactics. A top guy is not the one who can do them all but the one who can get the right people to do these when he can man manage the players as to who plays a game how to prepare him, even when a player is benched he is in plan for a short but powerful stint etc.
