I have a questions! Why does no one ever talk about choosing a DJ and what songs to choose? Do you literally have to choose every song that will be played at your wedding? What are the top songs for cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc......

I booked my venue two years early and I contacted some planners for partial planning. One planner said "Are you really getting married in 2022?" That to me just sounded condescending. I crossed them off my list.

Thank you Jamie for your amazing videos, I've learned so much from every single one I've watched and I'm not even engaged yet! HAHAH. You put things in such a clear and well articulated way. Video request: Could you do a video on interracial weddings? I'm asian, my partner is white. I know in western culture, it's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding. But we are undeniably going to do a "gate crash" (asian culture game show where the groom + groomsmen do challenges to prove he's worthy of seeing the bride before the ceremony. Maid of honor + bridesmaids team up to get in their way, it's hilarious! Bubzbeauty has an adorable gate crash video on youtube, if you want to look into it). It'll probably be jarring for his side of the family to accept that this is just how my culture does things. I'd love to see you collab with a wedding planner of a different ethnicity to share tips on how to make the wedding a great experience for people of both Western and Eastern cultures.

How important is it to have a wedding planner that has worked at your venue before? Is it THAT big of a deal if my wedding would be their first time? 2. I am starting as an event planner... how do you price packages? Like do you have clients pay the service fee and they pay the decor or does the packages include decorating. Ex. Like you having to go out and buy decorations etc.

What about venues that offer wedding planners on staff when you choose to use their space? Do you pay them separately for a package, or is it in the contract how much/what percentage of the money paid to the venue directly will go to them?

I'm about to begin planning my first meetings with coordinators, and was wondering a couple things. How long do they typically last? And who "leads" the meeting? @@carolinaburgosaguilar1494 I totally know how you feel! When we began talking about wedding planning, the thought of planning long distance really overwhelmed me. One tip I heard was to to be decisive when having to make decisions, instead of going back and forth. Make a decision and move on, to minimize the worry and stress. Also, lean heavily on people in the location! I have a few people back home who are willing to help out with whatever I need. They're the ones, plus my fiance if he's able (he also loves in a different city) that I would lean on to do tastings and give me their best input/opinion. Thankfully I'm pretty laid back and not super picky, so that really helps! And it seems like all the vendors are totally flexible to do phone calls and virtual meetings, which is so great! Thank God for technology!!
