Hi everyone - It's come to my attention that there has been someone masquerading as myself, responding to some comments here with a link to a Telegram chat to win a prize from me. THIS IS A SCAM, I am not holding a contest, nor do I have a Telegram account. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THESE MESSAGES!! What an incredible effort! I especially liked the up-to-date time-lapse tutorial. My kids are I are stuck inside this week (COVID has finally made it to New Zealand) so we'll definitely be making some time-lapse videos together. It feels wrong to me to use closed-source software (balena sound and virtualhere) on the Raspberry Pi - but how can I complain when there's EIGHT other projects for me to choose from? Having articles available for reference, as well as the videos is brilliant too. Thank you very much!

Happy Birthday, Raspberry Pi! The Pi is such an incredibly versatile device, and has fueled quite a few very interesting projects and builds. My favorite usage of the Pi in particular is how it is benefiting those of us who are into vintage/retro computers. There are a ton of extremely useful Pi projects for retro/vintage computer enthusiasts. Some of my favorites include: - RASCSI (emulates SCSI hard drives, which are most likely to fail on older computers and are becoming very hard to get) - PiStorm (a CPU accelerator for the Amiga) - MT32Pi (emulates the Roland MT-32 sound processor for high quality MIDI sound on old school DOS games, etc.) - RGBtoHDMI (converts video output from older machines to modern HDMI)

The RPi 400 actually has a power button by pressing the raspberry and F10 buttons. Also, I don't know if this changed with the latest iteration of Raspberry Pi OS, but I also had the whole scroll annoyance (US) - but I dont recall what the default placement was, I suspect it was at the top (to your favor). All in all, this is an awesome tutorial from "I got my Pi in the mail today" to actually doing stuff. I liked the Pico projects in particular. Thanks for all of the hard work on this!

I would like to point out that for the Simon project at 37:30 you say GP3 and label a pin GP3, but that pin is actually GP2. GP3 is the 5th pin down on the left side, not the 4th one.

I just have one major problem with this, and that is... where on Earth do I start??? I want all of this and have to have it NOW!!! I have all the Pi's and just need to pick one and make a start. Thanks Bill, astounding work. I just have one question for you, how on earth did you get the Arduino IDE to work in the programming of the Pi Pico? Have I missed a video you may have mentioned this in???

As always a very lovely and detailed presentation Bill. The last project particularly is very interesting and will try. Also, I would definitely love such detailed instructions for an NTP/GPS clock project using an ESP32 and DS3231(may be Wemos D1 mini series or a combo of Arduino/RPI and ESP8266). I know there are a plenty of these projects here on youtube, but will definitely appreciate one 'original' code with explanations. Happy b'day RPI.

This may be considered nitpicking, but I would strongly advise against leaving the VirtualHere binary in the downloads folder at 31:40. It’s very easy to get accidentally deleted if the machine is used for any other purposes besides VirtualHere. There are locations where such a binary would canonically be placed, such as /opt/bin

Scopy looks like it would be good for certain uses, like verifying PWM for motor drivers, etc. It's not a high end scope, but else do you expect for a couple bucks. No one would expect it to be a Rigel or Tectronix.

Hi, Some time ago I bought an Arduino Uno and made a simple project with it. I copied the sketch from the internet. Programming is not easy for me. There is no real course to be found on the internet. I did find courses for C++, C# and Python. Now I wonder if I made the right choice. Is a Rasberry Pi a better choice. A very long time ago I did make programs in Basic. Can C# and Python be used in Arduino and/or Raspberry Pi? Thanks in advance. Regards, Jan

I got as far as connecting my iPhone to my Raspberry pi 4 without problems but no sound came out of the 3.5 not Hdmi connectors. Having carried out some research it looks like this has been a problem that has come and gone for years. Pity it would have been useful use of my spare Pi

Well, about selecting countries... Shouldn't it be in the order where it's most used first so you annoy the least amount of people and then alphabetically... lol My 2 cents which is prb worth that much. AND, I do have either a reboot or shutdown switch for EVERY Pi! Headless or not... I just made it part of every configuration. I also have a script to restart the wireless if it can't ping the gateway within a few minutes. Anyone else have the problem where they lose wireless sometimes? I know the HDMI/powersave options. Been there, done that. Still happens. I know this isn't the forum for it but, I've exhausted my resources. Love the channel!

10 years? Doesn't time fly? I managed to snaffle one of the very first batch of Raspberry Pi Model B released to the public. On the morning of the release, the Element 14 website ground to a halt. I had bought some stickers from the Raspberry Pi online shop, and there was a phone number listed on the receipt, so I called it. Guess who answered? Yep, Eben Upton. I explained the problem to him, and he was very apologetic, even though it was about 7:30AM. He talks a lot... I was on the phone with him for at least 5 minutes. The upshot was, I managed to get an order through, and my Pi arrived a couple of days later. I don't know if he intervened, or if I was just lucky. The Pi is still running fine, and is acting as a PiHole on my network to this day. I also have a 2nd gen. Pi and a Zero W.

@25:25 you complain but if your from the UK and you install US softwere they have United states at the top (even though it dont begin with A) but you have to scroll alll the way down to U for United Kingdom..... so i say taste of own medicine for the yanks when you get a raspberry pi that defualts to UK-GB :P tbf though they made it easyer with the Pi OS installer so you can set it before you even install the OS
