10 reasons to have a NICHE if you're a bookkeeper. Honestly it makes your job easier if you have a niche--you learn that one industry so well that it's easy to talk about to bookkeeping clients. Actually Morgan, the specialization as a " start up " bookkeeper sounds like a very good way to start offering your services. It forces you to become a rapid researcher into the intricacies of a board scope of businesses. And as you become more familiar with various business formats, you can make a more focused selection of an area of specialization.

breaks my heart I can't niche in medical bookkeeping with QBO (non HIPPA compliant) with my RN & Accounting Degrees. I just feel like there is an ocean of general bookkeepers out there. Wil keep my mind and heart open to see if anything feels like a perfect fit for me. Thanks for video.

You can still niche in medical, and there are people who do, you just have to be a little more creative with transferring things to QBO.

If you want to have a specific niche, is it better to market to them from the start? (even if you don't have much experience working with that niche) --or would it be better to market yourself as only serving that niche later on after you've gotten more experience?
