Love your videos Morgan! I am a life insurance agent but recently got a job as a bookkeeper. I really enjoy learning QBs, so I am now taking the ProAdvisor course! Almost done and can't wait to prospect my first client under my business. I plan to build it so I can leave job and offer life insurance and tax prep as well. God bless you for sharing all your knowledge!

Hi Morgan I love your videos.. can you please do make videos on construction bookkeeping.
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Ohh, good topic. I actually don't have experience with construction, but I've heard it's quite specific. Have you tried finding a Facebook group on that niche? That should hopefully give you some good resources!

I’ve just recently got sucked into listening to and looking at Mel Power’s kick start program. I’m a SAHM homeschooler who needs more income! I have a side hussle that I do my own “book keeping” for. I think becoming a bookkeeper is something I can do for local businesses from home. Does one NEED to complete a program like Mel’s or SHOULD one do that? I see the free QB’s course and certification, perhaps that’s all I need and watch your videos?! What are your thoughts?
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
Cool! It is kind of personal preference, I'd say. No, you don't need to complete a course ... I'd recommend take one baby step at a time and see what you think. The free certification is a great place to start & it sounds like you're getting some practical experience. Then, you can decide from there what more training you need. :) Did you see my video "start here"? And also check out the one on Bookkeeper Launch (that's my fave class). kzbin.info/www/bejne/qXiol5mipNJ9etE kzbin.info/www/bejne/mobVm32vZsqlqdk

My boss insists on using an invoice for checks that we receive for parts we return. I think it adds to our income. How would you do it?

Confession: this week i tried to clean up undeposited funds, my client had payments recorded somehow that hadn’t actually happened AND matching deposits in the bank feed. I got a stern talking to. Not sure how he managed that though.

I watched a video with Bill Von Fumetti, "Booming Bookkeeping Business." He offers a course on starting a bookkeeping business. Do you have any knowledge about this program? Is it worth the money?

This is a course Morgan is looking into right now to be able to give a review about. She hasn't taken it herself yet, but she does recommend Bookkeeper Launch (which she has taken and loves): sk293.isrefer.com/go/BLFAQ/ML82/ -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

Is there any free QuickBooks like online training I noticed that the course cost $500 I wish they had a payment plan🥴

Yes! Make sure you sign up for the Accountant version, and be a QuickBooks ProAdvisor for free. Here's a video where I explain it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fmqTgayfd69rgdk

Hi Morgan,great video as usual ,how would you recommend a carpenter/similar service providers send details of work they did(Pay,date,description of work ,client etc)to their bookkeeper?Should they email me a list weekly ?Or should we set up a shared spreadsheet? Thanks 🙂
@FinePointsBookkeeping4 жыл бұрын
My style would probably be a shared spreadsheet. :) Depending on how willing they are, you could have the contractor (or an assistant) enter their hours into QBO (maybe from the QBO app on their phone)... there is a function for that, or use a 3rd party app. But a spreadsheet should work well too, especially just starting out!
