Can you give me some help? Is it wrong not to hate Europe? I'm passionate about Europe and European culture, but many people tell me that I should hate Europe because of colonialism, imperialism and Eurocentrism. They say that those who like them didn't study history, they say I should read books that encourage hatred of Europeans like open veins of Latin America and books by Jessé de Souza, they say the world would be better if Europe didn't exist, they say Europe is only rich and developed because it stole resources from other continents (and still steals), that nothing was invented by Europeans and that all the customs and things that were said to be "invented" by Europeans were stolen/copied from other peoples, that before colonialism Europe was backward, poor, without resources and without culture compared to other people and that they only said they were advanced so they could steal resources from other continents, they lived in houses made of clay, wood, stone and straw, which Europe and those who argue that Europe already had scientific and technological advances before colonialism, that she is not rich just because she stole resources from other continents and that they invented many things, she is Eurocentric, suffers from "colonized syndrome" and did not study history. Milton Santos himself hated Europe. The other day I watched Pedro Daher's videos in which he was making hate speeches about Europe and also about Canada and other countries in the "global north" (I hate the expressions Global North/Global South). I've also seen 2 geography pages on Instagram (tudogeo and Leandro Levi) that said that "the United States and Europe are not examples to be followed, we just have to continue with our Latin way of being". Another guy on TikTok said that "The Global South should cancel Europe and only admire Latin America and Africa", another blogger called umasulamericana has already said that "Brazilians are always chasing European citizenship; European culture has nothing to do with with Brazilian culture or with our ancestors, Latin American culture is more similar to Brazilian culture, we just prefer European culture because of the Eurocentric media that makes us see them as superior." Camila Faria's channel is another one where you're more likely to see her growing wings and flying than speaking well about Europeans. In almost all of her videos she calls Europeans lazy and spoiled. I've seen a Brazilian KZbinr who looked like an American teenager who said that "Brazil is not considered a Western country by Europeans, Americans, Canadians and Australians. We are filthy Latins in their view. But we are better than them. Being Brazilian/Latino is a thousand times better than being Western". He also said that white Brazilians are not considered white in the United States, Europe, Australia and Canada. I saw 3 profiles on Quora saying that "Many people use racist arguments to explain why the United States and Europe are so rich and developed, talking to them is like banging your head against a wall." Despite not having colonies, I've seen people saying that Switzerland got rich by trafficking African slaves and that there is no other reason why Switzerland was rich and developed. I see that speech that "Switzerland is the largest chocolate producer in the world without having a cocoa tree","France has the largest gold reserves without having even one gold in its territory","The English did not invent football ", "Rome and Greece would be nothing if it weren't for North Africans and West Asians","The Moors brought Europeans out of the Dark Ages","Europeans didn't bathe before colonization","It is more likely that a camel through the eye of a needle that a Brazilian/Latin American can go to Europe and not be discriminated against","Europeans envied Africa", "The film Bacurau portrays very well how Americans and Europeans see a white Brazilian", "Canada, Australia and New Zealand are as imperialist as the United States and England", "Greeks and Romans stole philosophy from the Egyptians. They did not have enough knowledge to create philosophy ","Rome and Greece were the ancient civilizations with the most inequality","Afrocentrism does not exist, there is only the truth that Eurocentrics do not accept", "The basis of everything is Africa", "Colonialism was the only form of Europe get out of the hole she got herself into"... I've also seen people saying that the only culture in the south of Brazil is that of the gauchos of the pampas and any other southern culture is just an attempt to attract tourists by copying German and Italian culture and there There are influences from German/Italian culture and it is wrong for Brazilians to say and be proud of being descendants of Germans, Italians, Slavs or European people in general. Just look at how many videos on TikTok and KZbin are mocking these Brazilians. I see many Africans on KZbin and TikTok making hate speeches about Europe, saying that Africa has always been better than Europe in everything; Saying that Africans have always been more advanced in terms of science and technology and that they invented everything and that Europeans are just thieves, invaders and murderers; and anyone who disagrees with them is Eurocentric, racist and has not studied history. I've heard people saying that Jesus was born in Ethiopia and not in Palestine/Israel. I also see members of the black movement who say that Brazilian culture is closer to African culture than to European culture and even to the culture of other Latin American countries. And there's still that litany of "sulear, our north is the south" umasulamericana.com/sulear-america-invert/ . I study a lot about crimes committed by non-European people (e.g. Arabs, Chinese, Mayans, Aztecs, Soviets, Confederates) but still many people say that comparing crimes committed by Europeans with crimes committed by non-European people is idiocy, Eurocentrism, white supremacy, sophism and ignorance, generally an "attempt to ameliorate the harm caused by European colonization and enable racism and European imperialism" and that Google, Wikipedia and KZbin cannot be trusted for knowledge about geography, history and politics , I even have far-left cousins who say that I shouldn't trust what American websites say about these matters. They say that "Western websites distort history to defend the West. Chinese and/or non-Western websites show that Europeans have always been backward and uncultured compared to the Egyptians, Arabs, Chinese, Mayans, Aztecs, Incas, etc." I also see people who say that everything Brasil Paralelo, BBC, Wikipedia, CNN say about non-Western countries is a lie. I must trust what História Publica and Pedro Daher say. I saw a guy on KZbin who said "If you like Europe you've been hypnotized by Western propaganda. There are millions of incredible places in the world and none of them are in Europe." I am completely paranoid about the possibility of Russia and/or China destroying the US and Europe. What do I do? Should I start to hate Europe? Would the world really be better if Europe didn't exist? Are countries like Australia, Canada and New Zealand really as evil as the United States and Europe? Is there any developed country that is not imperialist? Are there really no other factors that helped Europe to be rich and developed and is it only rich and developed because it stole resources from other continents? If Europe had not stolen resources from other continents, would it currently be poor and underdeveloped? If Europeans were so backward in the past, how did they manage to colonize the world? Is there any food of entirely European origin without influences or ingredients from other continents? Is there at least one good thing that Europeans have done in the world? BTW: I am Brazilian

Brazil once had its own monarchy. It has 63% of its original vegetation cover preserved, which country has this? It has the second or third largest commercial aircraft manufacturer in the world, Embraer. It has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan, the largest Italian community outside of Italy, the second largest German community outside of Germany and there are more Lebanese than in Lebanon itself! Brazil is closer to Canada than its northern most point is to its southernmost point

Brazil has 6 biomes: Amazônia, Caatinga, Cerrado, Mata Atlântica, Pampa & Pantanal. Each one has it's own specificities. So the fauna & flora may diverge. Caatiga for example is semi-arid. Amazônia is the rainforest. Pantanal are wetlands. Cerrado is like a savanah. So different biomes, different species.

I'm from Pará, the state that has most reduced the deforestation of the Amazon forest in its region and I can say that we do take care of our forest, which is home not only for animals and plants but to many people that lives in the cities and by the rivers here ❤ People (Brazilians and foreigners) have no idea how big and dense this forest is, the protective authorities can only find illegal deforestation when it is already on a large scale to be detected on satellite. It's not a park where you go around and that's it, it's very big and yet the protection agencies work tirelessly to protect the forest, even with limited resources. As I said is important to a lot of people. Unfortunately, its wealth is coveted by many, inside and outside Brazil. So it's a never-ending job.

They learn to speak Portuguese in schools. And the schools there have 2 teachers; one that teaches in Portuguese and another that teaches in German. -There is a stadium called Estádio Zerão in the city of Macapá. The midfield is on the equator. So the teams play in different hemispheres. -João Pessoa is the best city in the Americas to live in after retirement

Please don't reduce an entire country to something folklore. Brazil is the 9th largest economy in the world today; an industrial power that manufactures commercial and military planes, ships, submarines, rockets, satellites, has one of the largest oil industries on the planet, among others. He owns one of the most developed agricultural productions on Earth. It is not true that all governments do not care about nature. Many of them do care, and try to make the world understand that they need to help Brazil take care of the Amazon, for example. What do you mean it's the lungs of the world and only Brazilians have to pay for it? People live there (around 20 million) and need access to everything. We are great, smiling and empathetic, but we are not fools. Good to know.

And you know, there are two fan facts I learnt when I was learning European Portuguese 'cause I was going to have a teo month stay in Lisbon but one of my Portuguese teachers was Brazilian, so he taught me some of those facts, like: - "Pau" which means peace and it's the name "paul" in Catalan as well, means stick in Portuguese, but mostly in Brazilian Portuguese it has a double meaning. It means d*ck. - And the other one is the word "rapariga" in European Portuguese means girl, but in Brazilian Portuguese it means "b*tch".

The best things Brazil has it’s beautiful beaches, vibrant culture, delicious food, and friendly people. The beaches in Brazil are some of the most stunning in the world, with crystal clear waters and soft white sand. Whether you're looking to relax and soak up the sun or catch some waves, Brazil has a beach for everyone. The country's culture is incredibly diverse and vibrant, with influences from indigenous, African, and European traditions. This can be seen in the music, dance, and art that is found throughout the country. Brazilian cuisine is known for its bold flavors and diverse ingredients. From feijoada, a hearty black bean stew, to pão de queijo, delicious cheese bread, there is something for every palate. And last but not least, the people of Brazil are incredibly warm and welcoming. Whether you're exploring the bustling streets of Rio de Janeiro or the remote Amazon rainforest, you're sure to be greeted with a smile. We have snow too. Brazil may be known for its tropical climate and beautiful beaches, but it also has regions that experience snowfall. The southernmost parts of the country, such as the state of Santa Catarina, can see snow during the winter months. This provides a unique opportunity for Brazilians to enjoy winter sports and activities. The snow-covered landscapes create a picturesque setting for skiing, snowboarding, and building snowmen. It's a surprising contrast to the sunny beaches that Brazil is famous for, but it's a testament to the country's diverse geography. So, if you're looking for a vacation destination that offers both beach relaxation and winter fun, Brazil has it all. The country with mist japoneses besides Japan and lebaneses, Italians Too. Brazil's cultural diversity extends beyond its stunning natural landscapes. The country is also home to a large population of Japanese, Lebanese, and Italian immigrants. These communities have made significant contributions to Brazil's cultural fabric, bringing with them their unique traditions, language, and cuisine. The influence of Japanese culture can be seen in the beautiful gardens and temples found in cities like São Paulo and Curitiba. Lebanese influence can be observed in the vibrant street markets and delicious Middle Eastern dishes available throughout the country. And of course, the Italian influence is evident in the mouthwatering pizzas and pastas that are popular in Brazilian cuisine. This melting pot of cultures adds an extra layer of richness to the already diverse Brazilian identity. So, when you visit Brazil, not only will you be able to enjoy the country's natural beauty, but you'll also have the opportunity to immerse yourself in a vibrant tapestry of cultures like amount of African countries that has her too.

The United States actually has more arable land than Brazil. According to Wikipedia, the top 10 countries by total arable land area are: 1. USA 2. India 3. Russia 4. China 5. Brazil 6. Canada 7. Nigeria 8. Ukraine 9. Argentina 10. Australia Note in particular how Australia is only #10 in arable land area despite having roughly the same total land area as the 48 contiguous U.S. states. That is because most of Australia is too dry. Similarly Canada is only #6 in arable land despite being the second largest country in area, in this case mostly because a large part of Canada is too cold. In the case of Brazil, arable land is probably limited by the fact that the country has an extensive area that is covered by forests.

Well, Brasil has 6 wide biomes, which allows it to have a great variety of animals and plants. I think you are thinking about the heavy use of local bird's feathers on carnaval's costumes, nowadays more fake feathers are used, but in the past not even the endangered species were out of question.

It does snow occasionally at higher elevations in Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul, but it is infrequent. Only once in my lifetime, I remember some snow flurries falling in the outskirts of Curitiba, but that was a particularly cold year when low temperatures were close to 0 C in the winter even as far north as São Paulo. With global warming and generally rising temperatures, I doubt I will see that again in my lifetime.

There is so much more: we have pink dolphins, capibaras (the biggest rodents in the world), the biggest Queer parade, the inventor of the watch, the biggest Japanese population out of Japan, cities in the south region very similar to German ones, one of the best voice acting in the world, alien visits, a magical place called Lençois Maranhenses...

Nice video!! Besides the Amazon Rainforest, the bioma called "Mata Atlântica" (Atlantic Forest) holds the record for woody plants (angiosperms) per hectare (450 species in southern Bahia), and also has around 20 thousand plant species, 8 thousand of which are native!

About Carnaval, it´s important to mention that its date depends on Easter. The end of Carnaval (Ash Wednesday) marks the beginning of the Catholic Lent (Quaresma). The ironic thing about hand signs is that the "ok" sign used in USA and other countries is, as mentioned, offensive in Brazil. But the OK sign in Brazil (thumb up) is considered offensive in other countries, I´ve heard it means something as "up yours".

It does not snow in some southeastern highlands there in winter because it is the dry season (no rain, no snow, although frost is somewhat usual in winter). But it does snow once in a while in the southern highlands.

In the northern United States, they get frost in the spring, which makes sense because early spring is still colder there than the "winter"in Southeastern Brazil. In the winter properly, the northern US states may get either snow or rain, but sometimes there may be "freezing rain" with ice (rather than snow) accumulating on the sidewalk , which gets very slippery by the way. If I understand it correctly, "freezing rain" happens when the snowflakes actually melt when passing through warmer layers of air and then freeze again on contact with the ground surface, creating the ice layer that I mentioned before. When it snows properly, and the snowflakes accumulate on the ground , the bottom layers in the snow pile also get compacted into ice spots, so it becomes quite slippery too.

That event shown in the picture was the World Youth Day which took place in Copacabana. It was during Winter and that’s why people didn’t go for a swim, I remember the temperature reached 8°C that day, for us - cariocas - it’s freezing cold 😂😂. I bet if it were a hot day, there’d be people in the water

1:30 That interesting, foreigners thinks our nature is "well preserved" because Amazon, but it's not about it. We have the 3th biggest tropical coast in the world with diferent water temperatures, arquipelagos, baias, islands, water falls and diferent florests like Amazônia, Mata Atlântica, Cerrado, Pantanal, Caatinga e Pampa. So we have also sertão, chapadas, pantanais, mangues. Actually Amazon represents a fraction of our nature, important and big, but only a part of all.

Only the basic topics and exteriotypes. Facts about Brazil The country is so big that it can fit 84 Koreas, all of Europe (without Russia) and still have room to spare. Brazil is closer to Canada than its northern most point is to its southernmost point

about the (7) fun fact of the 60% of rainforest is in Brazil, yeah, theres a many indigenous tribes living without contact of the modern people, but is not because they dont know about us, they chose to avoid the contacts and remained isolated. In Brazil we call this kind tribes "povos isolados" --> isolated people. the amazon is vast and has the possibility of a lot of tribes, species of animals and flowers we dont know yet.

Being the largest coffee producer in the world is why we, as a Finn, the country who drinks the most coffee in the world, are friends with the brazilian. I'm actually a bit surprised these things came as surprise other than the snake island and ok sign, I sort of thought these were the things you know about Brazil if you were awake in geography class in elementary school or had heard of Brazil. My brazilian friend pointed out an interesting bit. All of these answers have a question mark after them as if it was not sure if Brazil was the biggest producer of coffee or Sao Paulo being the biggest city. "We don't know, it could be!"
