Appreciate you sharing your personal story and insights as to what you did to get to where you are and things like that. I used to do KZbin full time while studying in Sports Rehabilitation. I'm heavily considering completing my MSc in Physiotherapy. I found your story on how you got started building your client base really informative and have since implemented similar strategies into my own work. Thank you for sharing!

That is awesome! How come you decided against KZbin?
@Metricate Жыл бұрын
It wasn't that I decided against it. It was more of a realistic decision. I couldn't remain consistent enough with what I was already doing, while studying a degree, especially in the later stages. I knew my degree would carry through with me for life and was something I wanted to improve on, which made me focus on my studies much more. When it came to any free time left for KZbin which I did have, I was always feeling so burnt out because of wanting to live up to my own standards, which were high both actual and higher in my head if that makes sense. I'm back now just focusing on enjoying it again and the content doesn't take much time at all. I could make a video in less than a day now with what I've decided to do. For me it was never something I could sustain long term. I recognised weaknesses within my sports rehabilitation/physio practice that I wanted to improve on massively: exercise prescription, clinical reasoning, anatomy and physiology etc. I had strengths too but with my new sudden drive of wanting to improve, it also made sense.

Thanks for the video dan , I’m a first year physio student and I’m struggling massively due to my adhd and have been debating about dropping out but I rlly think becoming a physio will be a great job so thanks for confirming that and motivating me to keep going

Keep it going. Use your ADHD to focus, I know it can be challenging but you'll make it through and it'll be worth it. Having ADHD can be such a huge benefit when it comes to interaction with clients!

Considering a career change into physiotherapy. I'm 30 and have been in university and working in geology since 2011 so this would be a massive change and it's daunting looking at having to go back to square one but so much about this career interests me and just feels like something i could be really satisfied doing.
@daniellowebusiness11 ай бұрын
I know it's daunting, but, would you regret not doing it? 30 is so young and so early in your career, if it was me, I'd go for it.

same here, you are not alone. from business to physio, uni journey start again.

Also sorry, one thing i strugg;le with is remembering pathologies and anatomy. have you masteerd anatomy or do you still struggle ahah
@daniellowebusiness9 ай бұрын
I’m always still learning, that’s the beauty of being a physio. But for the most part I have the common pathologies down, this is 90% as a result of being exposed to them in practice. You’ll only truly understand how to identify and treat certain pathologies through experience in my opinion

Hi Mate, I have commented a few times. I think I'm at the point where I am about to drop out. I just find the anatomy stuff genuinely really quite uninteresting and think it might be best to cut my losses. Still unsure but I just think there's a difference between looking into things for myself because of my own injuries and looking at things for other people. I always thought the people aspect was good but there's just so much to know. I think I've asked myself. Do I want to do this job for the next say 10/15 years and I just can't see myself doing that really. Which is ashame. I'm 35. Feel so lost it's brought me to tears some nights. Just wish I could find the thing I want to do with my life. Appreciate the content though man. Good stuff.

Hi Matt, yeah I’ve seen you commenting I really feel for you. Firstly I would say if you work in a hospital, you can absolutely get around not finding anatomy interesting, however, you will definitely be exposed to some level of practice where you’ll need to know it. It’s a tough one, from my perspective, it sounds like you know it’s not right for you, that’s not to say you should quit. I hated MSK when I was studying, and I now love it and work in it privately. It’s a tough decision to make. Id love to make a video on the whole “deciding what to do with your life” would this be something you’d find useful?

100% bro. If you could do it before I quit that would be great. :) @@daniellowebusiness

Currently doing a Sport Therapy BSC and thinking about applying to a Physiotherapy Masters, would it be a good idea to start a door to door style of work once I get my BSC alongside potentially doing the masters to build a solid client base for after the masters completion and maybe go into private practice sooner
@daniellowebusiness10 ай бұрын
It could be. I don’t think I would’ve managed the workload whilst I was doing my masters and working 2 days a week as a manager of a retail store. Also keep in mind you’ll only be able to do massage for now whilst you won’t be HCPC registered👍🏼
@lukecourt159210 ай бұрын
@@daniellowebusiness Thanks for the reply, if I was to go down the route of the door to door, massage which I'm ok with doing by itself to start out. do I need to wait until I've got my Bsc Hons before starting this?
@xaeonmagic737610 ай бұрын
hello mate got a question for you. with my sports rehab course I get registered with basrat but they aren't really all that good. if I'm going to do a masters and get registered with hcpc and csp is there any point having another board to my name. i feel like its a waste of money and I should just complete the course and move on to physio pre reg
@daniellowebusiness9 ай бұрын
I think this depends on what you want to do. If your goal is to work for yourself, then I don’t see why you can’t do that as a sports therapist under basrat. You just can’t advertise as a physiotherapist. If your goal is to work for a large corporation like the NHS. The opportunity will be much better for better income as a physiotherapist with a HCPC registration. If I were you, I’d be looking to work with what you’ve got and give it a try as a sport therapist 👌🏼
