I did the same thing on my RKS, but went with 8 inch risers. Huge improvement! Great video, wish I had this when I did mine, it would have saved a lot of time.

Harley sells the fork lock cover piece that will allow you to run risers! And the only reason I know is I’m trying to put risers on my 2007 Road King, and they only make it for ‘13-later.

Did the wiring connectors fit thru the bars? A lot of videos show de pinning the connectors then reattaching after feeding the wires thru.

They can if you stagger the harnesses and wrap with electrical tape and wipe some grease on when pulling through. It takes some patience and finesse but it can be done.

De pinning and reattaching is a lot easier than it seems once you get into it, the plugs are basically made to be taken apart and put back together easily. It took me longer to get the wires pulled through than it took to reconnect the pins, just take a bunch of pictures from different angles so you don’t mix the wires up.

I agree, as long as you have the right tool or at least a small enough screwdriver it’s not hard at all.

Sorry, I don’t have the bike anymore as I sold it, but I want to say it was around 12” total

I think 14 inch apes are the best on the standard roadking or roadking classic and they also put your arms in a good balanced position and look the best on the chrome bikes. I like the t bars on the blacked out bikes. but at the end of the day its your bike and whatever bars make u control the bike the best is the way u should go. I'm seeing alot of people lately doing a black and chrome theme and even with some gold thrown in which I think looks cool because the combo makes the bike pop and its not the same as every other bike on the road, it makes the bike your own. I think a memphis shades road warrior fairing will look the best on your bike with those t bars, its a small faring the same size as a windshield but its a small faring and windshield combo which I think will make your bike pop even more, plus a more pleasant ride with no wind smacking u in the face. thanks for taking the time to share the video. ride safe.

What did you do with the ground wire what was connected to the stock risers. Do you connected somewhere else or did you just left it alone?
@DieselLegiance8 ай бұрын
Bolted it down to the triple tree where the other wire was already attached.
