Over the years a number of games, such as Mortal Kombat and Doom have been accused of inspiring players to commit real world violent acts, and although the link between video games and violence is dubious at best, it’s hard to deny that these games are provocative. We’ve also seen titles drawing the ire of various groups claiming that they’re an affront to common decency, with games like South Park: The Stick of Truth upsetting censors the world over with their edgy content. Not all games deserve the controversy they court, however, and some instances of games hitting the media are just downright dumb. Whether it’s concerned parents and politicians getting their knickers in a twist before even getting the full story, or media outlets getting irritated over nothing, there are some controversies that just weren’t worth people’s time and outrage. Pokemon being banned in Saudi Arabia is definitely up there and I'm surprised isn't the one you guys went with. Yes, the pokemon "evolve" in the game it actually disproves Darwinism's take on evolution. Darwin noted the changes to a species over generations, whereas pokemon is one organism going through said changes throughout it's life. It's less evolution and more metamorphosis, similar to how caterpillars turn into butterflies. I wonder if anyone has pointed this out to the leadership in Saudi Arabia. Must've been quite embarrassing for them.

I remember being in Kuwait when the ban for Pokémon was called for by the higher ups in Saudi Arabia. Overnight the entire country's stock of Pokémon memorabilia was taken out to the desert and set ablaze. Oh the number of cards. Never forget that PETA championed Pokemon Go! for being the correct way to treat animals. Capturing wild creatures and forcing them to fight each other doesn't seem to fall into the remit of animal welfare campaigners.

Am I correct in assuming that Jack Thompson and the guy who wanted the “fatty fatty no parents” line in Portal 2 removed were just too ahead of the curve? I remember how much disdain Thompson was treated with way back then and how the publishers/industry in general would laugh these ridiculous allegations off but cant help but think that due to changing attitudes that if either of those guys pulled any of those stunts these days that a lot of people who play (and produce) video games would actually side with them and their moronic opinions?

how is a Civilian killing spree level totally reasonable..? the point of the video were pointless scandals...even though COD is a shooter the time of the release and state of world events were reasonable to have a scandal i would say.... idk if you ever watched WWE but in one show they had a character being attacked by a gang of pretty much "terrorist" after just a recent real world attack....needless to say there was a heavy scandal around the show after it even it is fake...
