I know, right? I was so disappointed at the mediocre to terrible quality of the fighting games on the N64! I grew up in the early to mid 1990s, when Street Fighter II and Mortal Kombat ruled arcades. Just a few short years later, N64 should have gotten some bangers, if they hadn't ruined their relationship with Capcom, who was still rocking the arcade, Sega Saturn and PlayStation with great Marvel and other fighting games. Considering the amount of fighting games on the N64, it is especially disappointing that there weren't really many good ones, except for Mortal Kombat Trilogy. I mean, with such garbage as War Gods, Mace: The Dark Age, Fighters Destiny, and Clay Fighter, it is stupefying!

@@Fortefyre Yeah, I listed it in my games I thought were garbage on N64, then seconds later, I heard you say you thought it was the best one, haha! That's okay, brotha, everyone has games they really like that others don't. There have been a few games you've (with my particulars) called not good. I still think GoldenEye is one of the best N64 games, and one of the few I currently own since re-purchasing an N64 a couple of years ago!

Lo Fi polygon count, small roms, and fog. If you were around for gaming in 1996 this system was still impressive. Can you imagine spending $59.99 to $69.99 to get one of the games on this list, though? That is like $120-140 today. N64 games were too damn expensive to be so short.
@Fortefyre2 ай бұрын
And to look like that in some cases.
@themidcentristАй бұрын
The worst part about buying games in the NES, SNES, and N64 era IMO was spending $49.99 - $69.99 for a game that was a blind buy. As memory serves internet video game reviews weren't really a thing in 1996, you had to rely on word of mouth and maybe magazines if you were lucky. N64 Superman would have sold far fewer copies if people had been able to check it out on Metacritic. I agonized over what game to get with my NES control deck and fortunately blind bought Mega Man 2, but it could have just as easily had been Uncanny X-Men.

When it comes to the Nintendo 64, PlayStation, Sega Saturn, and gaming systems further up ahead of them, go ahead and have the different region games grouped together considering you rarely see gaming systems have drastically different names by then. As for Game Boy, PlayStation handhelds, WonderSwan, and Neo Geo Pocket handhelds; their names are basically the same worldwide or never left Japan. Although you may want to keep the box arts in different region videos as otherwise the Japanese box arts would dominate. Though it has become more common for box arts to be shared worldwide.

I grew very despondent on the continued unappealing releases on the N64. A friend of mine had a PlayStation, and I was envious of all of the games that I couldn’t play on the N64 Then eventually I purchased a refurbished PlayStation from Funcoland along with Die Hard Trilogy, Final Fantasy VII, and a memory card. I started playing video games again thanks to my purchase! A whole new library of games were available to rent! PlayStation had the games that I wanted to play! That being said, I’m pretty sure that you would have a much more difficult time finding 10 game to put on a “Shotest PlayStation Games” list because CD’s can hold much more of a game.
