I love a very small and quite cheap bag from Decathlon. It is the forclaz Multipocket Bag reference 8619465. Works as sling bag or belt pouch, big enough to fit all travel essentials such as passport, smartphone, earplugs etc. in and still small enough to fit in the small seat pocket in front of you in the airplane. Does also a good job as pipe bag or cosmetics bag or as a unremarkable first aid kit bag if you are out on a group hike or on the way with your kids to the next playground.

Just bought the Moment Fanny Sling 2L Black Ripstop and bring it to singapore for 5 days trip. It can fit my: - fuji xt-10 + 35mm lens (lens attatched) - 1 extra battery - 20k mah power bank - Charging cable - card holder - Clip of cash - airpods pro - passport - key set (orbitkey) - sunglasses - pen - small umbrella (attached underneath the bag) - Watter bottle (on the side of the bag, attached with S-biner, but a bit dangling) - A poncho for raniny days (on the other side of the bag) a bit snugged for all the items but if either the camera or powerbank is removed, it feels better to zipped and to carry

To support the local bag hero from Hamburg, I’d go for the Heimplanet Pocket Sling - or actually I would have pulled the trigger already, but it was sold out. Patagonia Atom or its cousin the Black Hole Sling; but both of these Patagonia slings suffer from being right shoulder carry only, and I think the final portion of the strap should be more thicker and wider. The latest PacSafe 4L hip pack finally comes with a waist strap that is long enough to extend into sling carry. I like passing muster at the ticket counter and gate by wearing it on my waist (it doesn’t count against my carryon bag count), then adjust the strap for sling wear. In sling wear mode, all the PacSafes will carry over either shoulder, and I appreciate the extra security features on the crowded subway.

I like the Kavu sling bag and use it as my daily bag. The casual aesthetic just works for me. It's big enough to fit an 11" iPad and I can stuff a surprising amount of things in it. Only downside is the lack of organization. I ended up DIYing some with some small pouches and velcro. I'm not a big fan of everything just falling to the bottom of the bag.

I’ve been using my Osprey Daylite sling for a few years. Love the durability, comfort, and the organization, but sometimes I need a little more room, especially when I’m traveling or carrying my iPad. I just ordered a couple of variations of the Kavu to try to solve that. The regular or switch sling will hopefully do the trick. I don’t think I’ll ever go back to shoulder bags after getting used to slings.

I just bought the Moment fanny pack and I love everything about it, but the strap is just not big enough for a larger than average guy. I wear a size 2x shirt and I'm a 42-inch waist and I can't get it around my waist and in sling mode, which is what I prefer, the strap basically hangs on my neck and just goes under my underarm on the other side, whiich means the clamps are basically right under my collarbone. The only semi-comfortable way to wear it seems to be over one arm, ut then it hangs kind of awkwardly. The organization and size is perfect for what I'm looking for to carry my Canon M50 with 22mm pancake lens, iPhone, minimal wallet, extra batteries, pocket notebook, pen and when I need it my manfrotto pixi, so it's unfortunate a larger strap wasn't included. Off to look for something that will fit better.

Is there a reason all these slings are so small? The backpacks from similar video start at above 2x the largest sling, that is a huge gap. Personally i have been using a cheap dufflebag with shoulder strap, but that tend to put some weight on the neck due to no stabilizing strap. Works well, way larger than these but need to have a hand on the strap if loaded to much

Tons of people use them, you can just look at the comments on here and see that. If you were into photography and wanted to walk around somewhere like a neighborhood and take photos, if you had a big bag or backpack somewhere like the suburbs you will probably have the cops called for looking suspicious. Now you might argue just take the camera and no bag, but then it might rain, you might want accessories for your camera, maybe water and some snacks etc so a sling is a pretty inconspicuous way to carry stuff plus it's very comfortable. I use my Osprey Daylite for when I go on long walks in the summer with my dog, take poopy bags, water for him and I, etc and it's great and my Peak Design is waterproof so I can walk around places with my camera and don't have to worry if it rains. A sling vs a backpack is like the difference between a DSLR camera and you cellphone, a backpack people get suspicious, a sling no one cares. LOL
