I stumbled across this channel about a week ago. It's an incredible goldmine. As the description says, " GuitarLickDojo provides high-quality lessons for guitarists who want to expand their lick vocabulary, and become a better improvising guitar player." Well that describes me. I can foresee hours of practice for me. I may never be able to keep out to unbelievable output. Lots to learn.

by far....much far, the best teacher. No other teacher gave me the hints to speed up. The short hand and fingers movement tips is the key to speed up. I have ALWAYS had trouble when trying to gain speed and I am improving now. And I have been a slow player for decades. Thankyou a lot!

I've read about tabs, I've watched one or two videos that explain it... but this finally helped me get a clear grasp on how to read and play them, just because of the way you laid it out on the screen, then played through it... allowing me to practice it and watch it at the same time. Thanks man!

Great little lesson. One suggestion. Turn down the reverb please. Between the verb and the open room it’s hard to hear what’s going on. It would be great in a full room but it’s a bit much for the lesson. But other than that I live what your doing with these great little lessons. Thanks.

Point taken on small hand movements...listening to Johnny Winter on records, I was amazed when I saw him play live - looked like he was barely moving. I thought he'd be jumping around all over the place. Nope. Big lesson.

good lesson, but some of us can't play that fast, & your examples are fast enough to be hard to follow...on the plus side, for those that have difficulty bending in the lower positions, there are several string makers ( Ernie Ball, Dunlop, D'Darrio to name a few) that make super light sets: I use eights by Dunlop (Rev. Willy's Mexican Lottery-8, 10, 12, 20, 30, 40-Billy Gibbon's signature brand).

SRV used THE ROUND SIDE OF THE PICK,W/2 FINGERS. THIS GUY IS JUST SHOWING LICKS...Helps you get the feel of it.BUT Incorporate your middle FINGER on the turnarounds going from the 1st to 2nd fret A/ D STRINGS,ALA SRV. THE LESS HAND MOVEMENT THE BETTER USE YOUR FINGERS THAT'S WHY GOD GAVE THEM TO YOU,, OR WHOEVER GAVE THEM TO YOU!!!!😊
@Gonzo27077 жыл бұрын
Excellent lesson, thanks for sharing. One suggestion, though: Please consider including _a lot_ more rhythm content, i.e. riffs, in your future lessons: In a band context, we're 90+% of the time NOT playing lead/licks, and if you're not able to lay down a solid groove & engage your audience, all your soloing skills will very likely not save you.

WHY does everybody have to TALK so much?!!!! Didn't ANYONE on KZbin ever take lessons from a REAL GUITAR TEACHER?... I don't mean to be rude sir because I appreciate anyone passing along knowledge, but I always thought the POINT of a KZbin lesson was, you START by PLAYING the ACTUAL LICKS, so the public KNOWS whether it's WORTH listening to 30 Min. FOR... It seems like EVERYONE these days, is TRYING to make a lesson for SOMEONE that NEVER HELD a GUITAR, before! THEN after SHOWING the LICKS, if you want to Talk for 25 minutes and explain WHY you're doing it and what PART of the neck, I mean it's obvious that "Open string Blues Licks" are at the NUT!.. I mean there's SO much wasted TALK on MOST lessons- not just YOU, but I notice almost Everyone! For the Hell of it try going to "Shut up and Play your Guitar"... He's an INCREDIBLE Guitarist, and his ENTIRE SONG lessons, along with a few other great teachers, START, in the FIRST MINUTE, by playing the SONG or the LESSON that he is trying to teach!.. THEN he briefly takes a half a minute to explain the history of the particular piece, then Re-plays it SLOWLY, and starts talking about where his FINGERS are GOING!.. PLEASE don't feel singled out with this comment I'm going to copy it and paste it to a lot of OTHER Lesson- givers, ALSO!.. Constructive criticism!...

Just found your video and I'd like to offer some advice from a viewer, don't waste time showing how you WOULDN'T play it. Show the tab, play it slow and play it at speed. No one wants to watch a 30 minute video that could've been done in 10.
