Only if they bring Bashir back. Dream Scenario, Julian Bashir as head of Section 31 (or even secretly head of the Obsidian order) married to/involved with Garak. We know both of the actors are more than enthusiastic about the idea. I think a Bashir older and cynical over perhaps a stalled Starfleet career (due to his genetic enhancements) and involved with Garak would be very interesting. A Cardassia where genetic enhancements are not only legal but necessary (due the fallout of the Dominion War) with Julian Bashir who is a medical genius and morally grey would be AMAZING!

At the end of Picard S3 Q shows up in Jack's quarters I believe the first episode of Legacy should start with that exact sene and the camera pan over to a flash and Wesley appearing. He then proceeds to tell Q to leave his Brother alone and they both disappear leaving Jack speechless which starts a long standing story arc through the series. They can also bring back Q's son to pass the torch. This also opens up more of how the Continuum and the Travelers interact.

One of the things about Star Trek I find perturbing is how the Federation hasn't met other groups like The Federation. It's a big galaxy and trek has populated it with a lost of species. As the Federation spreads its influence it could encounter an alliance similar to itself, and not hostile to it. It doesn't make for good conflict based story lines, but it could be good reflection storyline.

The aftermath of the Dominion War has the potential for tons of great stories. You can do stories about a shift in the balance of power in the Alpha/Beta Quadrant. Powers that were not involved in the war could take advantage of the Klingons being weakened by war. Caches of weapons and technology from the war could go into the black market, resulting in more piracy and crime. Minor powers could even recover advanced technology from the wreckage of battles and lost ships. There could be debate within the Federation about Starfleet. Worlds less affected by the war would want Starfleet to disarm while worlds that were invaded would want a more militarized Starfleet to protect them. You could also do stories about the Federation trying to maintain the alliances they built during the war, trying to set up joint missions with the Klingons, Romulans, and Cardassians. Starfleet would try to go back to diplomacy and science and launch a new age of exploration for the Federation.

6:44 tbh, in STO, which this part is often forgotten, Thomas married and HAD a son named Joshua Riker with an unknown woman, he’s Technically William Riker’s Nephew but could be mistaken for his son without knowing first. After the collapse of the Old Cardassian Regime at the end on the Dominion War, the prison colony where he was at, Lazon II, fell into neglect and was mostly forgotten about, using his leadership skills, Thomas was able to build a community out of the old Prison, married another one of the inmates, and had Joshua with her. unlike in STO, Thomas wasn’t forgotten about completely, and i think he was retrieved by another California-Class ship from is home. I bet while away he negotiated for Supply runs and assistance for his people and colony on the planet. 6:51 In a Recent Addition to Beta-Canon, Sisko HAD Returned Temporarily to deal with a threat that was posing not only a danger to the universe but a danger to the prophets aswell, and he had gone to Starfleet to Recommission him and to seek assistance, he was introduced to his daughter, Sarah Rae Sisko, and was temporary given command of the USS Theseus, a Refitted Discovery-Class Starship, the Discovery-Class was an old failed 23rd century Multi-purpose Plug-&-Play modular Cruiser that was always experimental, so all commissioned class members had the “NX” designation with the Theseus’ number being “NX-1987”, but the design was only a failure due to the technology of its time, so after being Decommissioned the Theseus was put in the Reserve and stored at Qualor II, and was later retrieved in the late-2370’s by Captain Montgomery Scott to be rebuilt into a Testbed for the Odyssey-Class. The Theseus, although not planning to be, under sisko’s command was Reactivated in full and helped him save the galaxy.

Q (John de Lancie) never felt right to what the continuum did to the Picard family, but was powerless to actually stop them. we could tie in Trelane into this as well, as being the Q the continuum has tasked with all the dirty deeds, I can see Trelane being played here in Legacy by Tom Ellis

Fate of Sisko, who takes over the Cardassia after the dominion war are both sorta explained in the IDW comics. They also show where Sela was between Voyager and Nemesis. Sure the comic isn't canon, but so is(n't) the STO, which was referenced in the video.

I do hope the show goes into new territory though. I don’t think having an entire show just being a greatest hits of past Trek plot threads would help the franchise overall.

How about the TNG episode "The Chase", where they find out all the humanoid species in the galaxy shared a common genetic origin? Seems like a hefty reveal to be completely ignored for the last 3 decades. I'm not entirely sure how that could be brought back, but I'd like to hear something about it again.

I think Wesley needs his due... the last novel ending the extended Star Trek universe timeline from Nemesis onward would be the perfect one to turn into a limited series, giving us a Wesley as Traveler buffet! And the very storyline involving multiple parallel timelines would be the excuse why it doesn't follow any of the current series timelines, and that could be incorporated somehow, I'm sure!

Controversially, DS9 is my favourite trek series. I would take anything that furthers old stories because picard played the nostalgia card BEAUTIFULLY so i would love to see ds9 characters again.
@ShonnDaylee Жыл бұрын
That's not controversial at all. Among "Trekkies" that is probably the most commonly held belief. The writing in DS9 is some of the strongest in the entire franchise.
@chrisolive46411 ай бұрын
@ShonnDaylee i agree. I love that ds9 had a core cast in a core location. It felt more like a dysfunctional family of sorts. Great writing, great casting and great stories.

A Legacy series with Archer finally being revealed as Future Guy would be awesome. We unfortunately lost Manny Coto, but his ideas could finally be used. The TCW could be used as a basis to bring back many more characters.

I really want to see the Dominion again(not rebel Changelings alone), perhaps a Vorta observer. I want Sisko back, even if just to finish his story. More Garak. Strides towards better relations with the Xindi,( perhaps discovering a lost Xindi Avian colony) Tholians, Gorn & Ferengi. A new threat from the Skorr as religious fanaticism has been an issue before with them and could arise as a new threat. I'd like to see the Interstellar Concordium become canon. There's just a lot of potential for a Star Trek Legacy.

What about the Mirror Universe? I'd like to know what happened after the Terran rebels captured Regent Worf in "The Emperor's New Cloak." Did the rebels ultimately win their freedom from the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance? Did the Alliance retaliate and liberate Regent Worf? Is Terok Nor still standing? Inquiring minds want to know!

Certainly some interesting and powerful species in the DQ to explore, some as potential good guys and others as antagonists. I can certainly see species such as the Hierarchy and Devore expanding quite militantly, and likely the Hirogen starting to re-unify.

The Kurtzman era is weird, instead of starting with two obvious series, a Christopher Pike prequel (they got there in the end) and a post-Dominion War, post-Voyager continuation series, they went off on a bunch of non-essential tangents and then seem surprised when something does get traction that clearly hasn’t been planned for. I despair…. Let’s be real, what you are pitching is actually two different shows - Delta show with Seven and a Gamma show probably with Ezri Dax. Ezri Dax is the least developed of the major DS9 characters and the fact that she IS DS9 means that she is a far more natural fit for some of the ideas you suggest. A show focused on an older, wiser but still fundamentally kind and nurturing Dax who has tapped into her potential and fully integrated the various Dax personalities into her own and climbed the ladder either as a Starfleet officer or a Federation diplomat. Dax, former mentor to Sisko, ex-diplomat in her Curzon incarnation, ex-scientist as Jadzia and ex-Counsellor herself is the perfect person to take on the Sisko, Gamma Quadrant and Garak elements of your proposal, even if it is just as a run of say 3 or 4 Long Treks. She knows the Dominion, she knows Sisko and she actually counselled Garak, so talking him down or putting an alternate point of view to him isn’t out of the realms of plausibility, they already have the foundation of a pre-existing relationship to draw upon to tell that story. If they wanted to tap into the Ferengi again, a DS9 staple, then she’d be as a tongo champion via Jadzia would be a good way to do it. She has a pre-existing relationship with Kira and a Counsellor who has in Jadzia’s form actually met the Prophets is a good person to choose for a return to Bajor story and again, she has the relationship with Martok and Worf, Dax covers the Klingon elements too. Let’s say she’s some kind of Federation trouble-shooter: Long Trek #1 - tensions rise between a Bajor now a member of the Federation and a reviving Cardassia. Long Trek #2 - reviving Federation interests in the Gamma Quadrant and potential Dominion interference there. Long Trek #3 - an August 1991 anti-Gorbachev style coup against Martok as hardliners want to force a war with the Federation for not letting them scoop up all the loose Romulan territory and Worf and Dax tag-team to save the peace. It taps into Star Trek VI territory too and gives us a Klingon-focused story whilst we get to see Martok matured by his life as a politician trying not to destroy the Empire weakened by military overspending, under-development in other places and a whole lot of false or fake honour. I agree, the Delta Quadrant and Species 8472 belong naturally to any show focused on Captain Seven, complete with her different perspective and the obvious bigotry she’d almost certainly receive as someone who is visibly ex-Borg in a part of the Delta Quadrant thrown in the air by the actions of Voyager. Species 8472, the Caatati - the species we met in ‘Day of Honor’ who demanded she be handed over to them to take revenge upon in-exchange for Voyager’s warp core, the Brunali, there are a few. Getting people to trust her despite her history would be half the battle and overcoming the fact that Voyager is the “ship of death” meaning the Federation likely has a bad reputation in the Delta Quadrant which might challenge some of the other, younger characters in their assumptions. Going to the far edges of reachable space with current for then technology would actually live up to the Enterprise name and provides a good opportunity to build upon what’s already there without adding too many elements that cannot be properly explored in the 10 episode structure we are going to get. I’d also argue they REALLY need to resolve some threads from ST:Picard, starting with the Romulans and that could be a good arc right there. The Enterprise on a major mission combining diplomacy, security support and humanitarian assistance in the former Neutral Zone and then ending up in a bigger quest provides the perfect opportunity to set the table on the tone and feel of Legacy whilst revisiting Sela and developing Seven’s back-story as a Ranger, along with some of the other characters - Raffi’s different approach to command and decision-making; Jack’s shoot first style; some of the younger crew like Sydney’s relative in-experience and give some space for them to be affected by the Borg experience they had recently. Explore a bit the contrast between Sela and Seven, both hybrids but nurtured in very different worlds. It writes itself.

My own list of things I'd like to see revisited in ST in one form or another: The mobsters from " A Piece of the Action". Did they ever develop warp technology from McCoy's tricorder? Why didn't the Federation ever try to follow up on the warp engine the size of a walnut from "I, Mudd"? How are George and Gracie and little Groucho doing since the whale probe? Did Oz give anything to the Tinman that he didn't already have? And yes, where the hell was Wesley during Picard Season 3?

While the gamma quadrant is ripe for exploration, a good starting point for legacy would be back in the delta quadrant to forge new alliances and bring more species to the federation. Season 2 could be venturing to the gamma quadrant and if they're out of plots, could go to do the temporal cold war.

I think a perfect thread to revisit would be the Vaadwaur. They were revived because of 7! Janeway said the repercussions from this could be catastrophic. And well...

All are good story arcs for Legacy to help wrap up. Do bare in mind, the show cant just be a loose end tie up show only, it needs it's own unique flare. Patching up things could be done across say Prodigy or lower decks. LIke for instance how we found out Nick Lacarno ended up with his atom's helping create a Genesis planet. Tom Paris remained in starfleet for example. spread the patch up across shows is all im saying. Although showing where other characters ended up on the show wouldn't be a bad thing. E.g. The Doctor - Arrives on the Enterprise with a full medical complement to assist in a plague on a Romulan Colony. Dr Crusher could Cameo because via sub space the Doctor who now has the rank of Captain reports back to her. Naiomi Wildman - Now a officer in starfleet, perhaps Raffi has to take leave because of her grandchild or some other reason but Naomi (may be recast if Scarlett doesn't want to play her) arrives to assume the first officer position in Raffi's place. Perhaps requesting at Raffi's return to remain aboard the Enterprise and Seven saying "Ill make room for you". Colonel Kira - May be we could see her commissioning as a Starfleet Captain on Bajor's entery in to the federation. (another loose end there) Miles O'Brian - Perhaps he was offered a provisional commission of Captain or Commander and is on the path to running the 25th century Academy. He has found teaching for-filling. Molly O'Brian - Molly Could be a NCO in starfleet, following in her fathers foot steps. If not on screen, we perhaps have another character reference her who says she's Chief of Operations of Starbase 14 (using a random number). Liam Shaw - Revived by Q, Perhaps he is offered a position of authority at the new Utopia Planitia yards with rank of rear admiral or commodore but perhaps turns it down stating "I may no longer be the commanding officer of this ship but! A Captain does not abandon ship" this would be a nod to his time in the battle of Wolf 359. Seven would allow him to become "Captain of Engineering" aboard the Enterprise. Making him the second Character we know to hold the position. Perhaps Seven and Liam come to blow's often but she respects his engineering ability. In his own way he still respects her like he did at the end of Picard despite showing distaste for her. The respect could be shown when at different times, one is injured saving the other, showing they will put their lives on the line for each other. Perhaps Seven even say's "Its a unique relationship". May be he says something to Seven in front of say Admiral Janeway and she's about the jump in to Seven's defense but Seven says "Admiral, its okay". Perhaps the growth of the two's relationship becomes one of banter eventually, insulting each other as they get closer. Harry Kim - Perhaps Harry is Captain of the Rhode Island, this was always his fate. That's just a few characters but you get the idea.

Regarding the Temporal Cold War as a storyline unifying all of Trek, I really like that idea for Star Trek Legacy since the video game, Star Trek Legacy, was also about a story unifying all of (then current) Star Trek. Granted in the game it was an extended Borg storyline but it Started with Enterprise, moved to TNG, ENT, DS9, Voyager, then circled back to Nemesis-Era TNG with the Enterprise E

Revisiting the Founders (and casting Remy or Tessa Auberjonois as an evolution or descendant of Odo) would be beautiful. And _Discovery_ could do it too. But, no knocks against Sela, the #1 thread that the canon needs to pick back up is the fate of The Sisko.
@EternalDreamer8511 ай бұрын
The race from Schisms actually appears in Star Trek Online, as one of the servitor races for the Iconians. Playing this storyline would be epic in a show.
@ItsAstridEh Жыл бұрын
I think the most important storyline to explore is the fact that there is Jurati's Cooperative has temporary federation membership - that's got to cause some sort of controversy. On top of that, the overturning of the Synth ban would likely read to a surge in Mutant/Augment/Illyrian rights activism. Especially considering that, by this point, the rule has been broken on several occasions (Bashir, Dal, Icheb, Una, Sarina) without issue and that the Federation has been using an Illyrian as a literal poster girl for recruitment.

I think that a story involving the Delta Quadrant would be good for Legacy. Seven would have plenty of knowledge of the species there. The over all mission could be to establish a new Star Base in that region. The cast could then include appearances by several Voyager members in supporting roles at the Star Base. The role of the Enterprise crew is to spearhead further exploration of that region. So, we will see the return of several species previously encountered. Some friendly and some enemies. This would also give reason to expand beyond the current 10 episode mold back toward classic longer seasons. Maybe 20 episodes max?

2nd season of picard would have been the best opportunity to bring TASHA YAR back. The Confederation would have blasted Armus to kingdon come, Tasha Yar could still be alive, and she could have been worked into Episode 2 briefly as a "resistance leader."

There is a star trek comic that is ongoing that is about the return of Sisko. It takes place before Insurrection. The prophets send him back to stop someone who is killing gods. He gets help from Picard who helps him get a ship and lends him Data and Dr. Crushed for his mission. He also has Scotty as his engineer and ends up with Jake, Tom Parris, and two original characters to round out his crew. The book is pretty good so far.

I think selah should have been on deep space nine maybe season 7 or late season 6 when the romulans entered the war she could have been the romulan Commander for all romulan forces in that area of the war and then ask for neelix on Star Trek Voyager I think an episode would be in order for legacy where the captain 7 in the crew of her enterprise somehow ends up in that sector where neelix is colony is at and a nice reunion between 7:00 and neelix and neelix being surprised how far seven has become to become the captain of the flagship of the federation

If your acknowledging ST online then the question of Sela was answered, she declared herself the Romulan Empress between 2403 and 2409, was imprisoned by the Iconians and rescued in 2410, subsequently imprisoned by the Romulan Republic before escaping and being re-imprisoned several times.

Yes...the Sisko must return. But, I think that an origin story about the planet killer from TOS: The Doomsday Machine would make a fascinating story for a Legacy story arc or one shot. It would be interesting to see how the Federation and its allies would deal with perhaps a far more complex and deadlier version of the planet killer.
