It’s just that princesses by marriage cannot be called princess before their name, and most take on the title of their husbands. However by virtue she is still princess Henry of Wales. When King George VI died in 1952, someone had to deliver a mourning outfit to Elizabeth on the plane so she could change into her mourning clothes before leaving. If this an American blog or whatever, it would be refreshing if the journalists managed to do a bit of research in how the British Royal Family hierarchy works. Basically the the same as other Royal Families in Europe. Princess Diana was referred to as “Princess Diana” due to the fact that Prince Charles was invested as the Prince of Wales. Diana was the Princess of Wales. Correctly, Meghan would be referred to as Princess Henry of Sussex if they had stayed on as senior royals and continued with their Royal duties. They are, especially Meghan, are only hanging onto the Duke and Duchess titles but will have no real clout and will mean Diddley squat.

It is easy to understand why the rules are in place and by marrying into the royal family one must learn and uphold them. Kate and Megan have been trained and surely they can uphold the traditions. But - how could we, commoners, be able to say if we could follow those rules. The Queen DOES follow many Christian rules from decades ago. I’m happy she keeps things in tact as she does... People today have relaxed original holiness decorum from ages ago. In their part of the world Christian vs Roman Catholic vs Anglican are ALL issues that can begin HUGE fights in public & even between brothers & Family members! My Prayer is that once the Queen is gone will Charles or William maintain the conservative reign she has currently? @@anaam7061 no they don't. It's a common misconception. We only have the monarchy for traditional purposes. They literally have no control over anything that runs in the country. If we thought at any point they dabbled in any political affairs we'd be rid of the royal monarchy within mere days. It's why they don't vote and just put stamps on shit parliament requests them to approve.

It's a very similar concept as our president what they say as well as our president says goes for the most part (the president as well as a queen can pardon anybody they wish) There are certain subjects mostly new laws where certain decisions need to go through Congress or Parliament however just like our president the queen always can work her way around anything and everything (the queen has more power to do so than our president).. Bills must be agreed by both Houses of Parliament and receive Royal Assent from the Queen before they can become Acts of Parliament which make a law. Also they CAN vote, they just don't need to considering the fact that ultimately they (the queen) has the final say so voting would ultimately be pointless.
