This channel is very unique. One thing I have found with most popular youtube channels is that they are often very equipment and gear orientated. Better and better equipment, more and more of it, collapsible this and fold able that. Greg strips all that back and most of his videos are beautifully minimalist. Absolutely love it.

I love the 30-day challenge you do with Zack. Always interesting to watch camping up in the trees. Did you pick up your favorite saying I noticed is "To Be Honest With Yah." I guess you met many car salesmen buying your vehicles. They use that saying tons. My theory on it is never to trust anyone that always says " To Be Honest With You" It is what I taught my children growing up. They don't need to say it if they are used to being honest hahahahahah. Good to see you back to your comforts of home. You sure did look terrified and nervous in the advertisement for *The Alone show.* You were super jumpy sitting under the overhand of the cliff like something was going to jump down on you. Probably more bears there when you did the Alone show than you're used to. Great content Greg as always very interesting.

I agree! A lot of the tips in this video, as great as they are, more or less require dry building material. But in a real survival situation, chances are you got into that situation because of bad weather in the first place. And it's a lot harder to work in rain, including making a fire.

Great video and tips...My tip would be to spray behind the toilets because alot of them leak and get moldy smelling...and under andaround the urinals...I got rid of the smell in a restroom that smelled like an outhouse by spraying under and around the urinals...You dont need to do it every day but a little lysol goes a long way...1% that yields %100 pay off...

For #6 Garbage Bag; why not just cut 1 side edge and the bottom edge so the duct tape wouldn't be needed? Or just cut both side edges and leave the bottom intact? The first method would create a square, second method would make a long rectangle. Love the videos man.

Always a great watch for Bushcraft and survival. Good stuff Gregg. We don't have Skunk Cabbage in the UK but we have rhubarb that has huge leaves just how far up a tree can a mature grizzly go? I know they can climb or is that black bears?
@mobeltass2 жыл бұрын
I belive the main thing keeping the bears off is the platform itself, since the bears can't use the ladder. But I don't think you have to worry about grizzlies in the UK anyway. =)
@marksadventures38892 жыл бұрын
@@mobeltass correct, we have no bears left, they got wiped out centuries ago. They murdered all the wolves. It's a miracle we've any wildlife left given the rate rich hunters and they were predominantly rich white land owners who went about killing anything they wanted as "sport".

The blanket of moss takes a whole day to make, a day that could be spent gathering wood, making a roof or hiking to safety. Because the best way to survive being stranded in the forest is to not get stranded in the first place or to orient yourself and walk out. I've never gotten so lost that I couldn't hike out easily even if part or most of it was in the dark.

I gotta ask.... do you believe it is actually safer, being up higher from that grizzly (in the last shelter)... or was it just a feeling of being safer (maybe a false sense of security, since bears can climb trees)? I did really enjoy watching this video, thanks for another great one : )
@CannibalChxrry2 жыл бұрын
It is safer. If you are on the ground or in a hammock close to the ground a grizzly can smell you and actually come up to you, if you are in a tree and it's sniffing around, it doesn't see you on the ground and makes it less of a chance of getting attacked. (Putting it short and sweet.)
