I love the 10 for 10s. Still learning the settings on my 600, after running a pro for several years. I get to a site and dig the first 10 repeatable signals, no matter what the vdi is showing. I've gotten surprised a few times with low numbers and a decent target

First one fooled me thought it was a dime but a memorial 26-27. But later it was a clad dime 26-27. Thought the last one was a clad quarter, hit high for a dime. I enjoyed it John thanks for that.

I hit a 14k wedding band on equinox 800 @ a vdi of 17-18 and 2 silver rings @ vdi of 21-22 this year; but agree with Tacocin, it is mostly luck in hitting the right spot.

That pin pointer drives me nuts gotta try the new pro pin pointer its black and is auto sensing makes life so much easier then changing the sensitivity on that orange one

Thank you for the video. Do you ever knotch discriminate the numbers that smashed bottle caps hit? Or if you do are you risking missing something good? I was in a area littered with bottle caps so I knotched out 22-23 because the bottle caps where ringing those numbers so consistent.

For me it depends. Coins that are two or less arrows down will almost NEVER bounce between even two vdi numbers while laying flat. I wouldn’t notch them out because you are missing older wheat pennies and silver jewelry. Try only digging targets that have numbers that stay the same, and I find with aluminum bottle caps when they are shallow I can turn on them and hear the signal from another direction and it will go from 22-23 to 20-21, not the signature of a coin.

Most of the people I watch use the nox 800 so pretty much know the vdi numbers even though I don’t use one. The next machine I get will be a nox 800

I don't have a Nox but the theory applies no matter what detector you use. Experience with VDI numbers are usually a pretty good indicator as whats in the ground. But like you said, gold, nickles and rings may look like trash. It's part science, part art, and a lot of luck!

The Minelabs us a compressed VDI scale vs a Garrett or whites and takes some getting use to if you get one of these machines I have a Whites XLT and also own a E-trac and the Equinox 800 minelabs are much better machines. Just takes getting use to them they are easier than my xlt.
