Surprisingly good. I say that, since the title drew me in, but with some apprehension. I think you did an excellent job of presenting the perspective of what a young student would likely feel, but unable to express with the directness of the issue and the subtlety of emotion. Kudos to you. And an illustration of what LSE can turn out. You will go far. And wish you every success.

Oh loved this vid 👌 I'm coming in September for the masters and thought I was fully prepared for it all. The loneliness is a good note honestly, plus the competition doesn't surprise me and was something I was curious/worried about. Much appreciated ! Xx

This is so accurate... I just survived first year at LSE, and I hate the competitiveness as you mentioned this in the video. Coming from a state school environment where everyone helps each other, I felt sometimes that, at LSE, whenever I ask for help, the peers intentionally give a misleading information or a vague one... Not saying that everyone is,,, but many are. Of course LSE is one of the best, or THE BEST university for its renowned social sciences, but I think it needs improvement outside academia.

Oh you just burst my bubble in a very good way. Being a University of London International Programme student, on an LSE Programme, they are equally as bad at communicating. They committed to something and then they proposed a new date later. I always thought you have it better on campus. I hope you enjoy the rest of your course and I wish the very best success.

Interesting. A lot of these have more to do with the interpersonal and communal element of university outside of the classroom and not the robustness and quality of education. I figure post graduate students coming from other universities might not be bothered by most of these. Cheers.

Brutal truth: Lse doesn’t care about their students. If you don’t have any special circumstances, then you’ll be perfectly fine. But if you have mental issues, medical conditions, travel restrictions, technological issues etc special circumstances, LSE doesn’t give a fuck. They are very proud of 92% rejection rate on granting discretion for these special circumstances. So if you’re looking for a welcoming, warm caring school, run. If you’re here for a CV boost, then pray your life here is as smooth as it can be. The moment you need to interact with student services, you’ll want to drop out.

I went to a business undergrad uni in Canada and shared a lot of the same complaints here. Now as an alumna, I routinely ignore their appeals for donations lol. Maybe this potential threat to future funding by disenchanted alumni refusing to donate can be leveraged as a great reason for LSE admin to invest in organizing milestone events, community building activities, and socials. It's telling that they only care about an efficient tuition-collecting machinery. Like it's a business, and they don't care about you.
