Update: I hated this cruise so much. I was never so bored in my life. There was absolutely nothing to do during the daytime. Nothing. The entertainment was so strange. Ok. It was whack. The only redeeming factor on this cruise were the restaurants. The dinner menus were extraordinary. The food was to die for. Not enough to make me want to cruise with VV ever again. BTW I have a $600 credit for a future cruise. I don't care.

This review right here is why I got hooked on your videos. Your in depth critique of the entertainment is amazing (it's all great, I love your opinion on the entertainment though :-) ). Since you have been there, done that as an entertainer - you can see what is well done and what still needs work. I so appreciate this perspective because a lot of other cruise vloggers aren't talking about this at all. It will be interesting to see how Virgin changes things up and works out the kinks. Given that it wasn't really a maiden voyage (Scarlet Lady did several cruises for paying passengers out of the UK before moving to Miami) it is a bit concerning that some things like muster drill and the app haven't been sorted out yet.

Appreciate your opinion but I just came off the Scarlet Lady a few days ago and a LOT has changed. Embarkation was easy, bags were in my cabin, customer service was great; and activities were a plenty. Shows were great but I do give it to you about the Food; could improve. They did have a diner with Hotdogs, wings and French fries and great pizza for those who like that kind of food. Clubs and DJs were great and overall I had a blast for my 60th! The App was user friendly and yes things were booked but I was able to experience everything I wanted to, just go a little earlier and they do they true best to accommodate you. So young or older it’s worth a sail. 🙏🏼💃🏽

I think it's ridiculous that the entire island only stocked 22 bottles of a brand of Champagne. That seems like they're asking for people to leave disappointed. Even if it is a "higher price" label, MANY cruisers love to splurge and I don't see 22 bottles lasting an entire ship full of people until midnight in any stretch of the imagination!

Just got off the ship. I loved it. I agree on the bar tab/drink package issue, but much of what you didn't care for was personal opinion - I'm not criticizing that, mind you. For example, we also had the seafood tower and loved it, chilled seafood is very common and is what a raw bar generally is. For those wondering who this ship is for? In my opinion, two groups: - People who have grown weary of the cookie cutter formulas of all the other cruise lines, and I fall into that category - I've been on enough that they just don't excite me anymore. - People who have never cruised and have no desire to do so because of the cookie cutter formula. Yes there are absolutely some tweaks that need to be made, but one thing I noticed is that they are listening and making improvements based on feedback

We got $300 drink tab credit included in our cruise, which was fantastic :) but we would never drink $600 worth of drinks and $300 is the minimum amount that you can add to your drink credit. So im guessing that we will have to pay for drinks out of whatever we put on our onboard credit after we have gone through the $300

Jay, it was so nice to meet you on the ship. I tend to agree with most of what you said. A lot of down time for sure. It also seems different areas of the ship should have different music, Techno, Rock, soul, progressive, pop, etc... as to have something for everyone! We felt the low base techno throughout the pool deck all day got to us a little, lol.

I agree with your statement that it's a new cruise line and they have some things to work out. I'm guessing over the next year we will see some changes. I also think their whole reason for being is that they do not want to be a "typical" cruise line and don't/won't/shouldn't have some of those typical things. They will either sink or swim based on that. I can't wait for my cruise next month and appreciate your videos on this new cruise line!

What you also need to take into account is that Ben and David travelled on Virgin in an up market cabin and didn't pay a penny for it.it kinda skews perspectives when you are on a freebie.

I came back to this video after my cruise, and I have to say I agree that the DJ was a huge disappointment after all the hype about having a great venue for the dancing. Personally, I *loved* the food and most of the entertainment. The focus on fitness and wellness was really refreshing, and, for me a much needed reboot.

You started off by saying they're a brand new cruise line, they're still working out the kinks, cut them some slack and then trash them for things they're still working on. But i get that it's your opinion. One thing, there IS a pizza restaurant on board, called 'The Pizza Place' and is open till 2 or 3 am. The Social Club Diner does hot dogs, burgers, and the most amazing 'instagram worthy' mega shakes, floats staked high with cookies, cakes, frosting, and candy, pie, etc. Thats one of the things i really liked about the ship, was there are lots of small little venues around the ship, rather than in 1 main dining hall etc. I really don't think it's perceived as a party ship, but maybe its been marketed different. You didn't have the Sex Therapst Show? It was very funny!!! Maybe the changed some things after the UK trips. I guess Americans are too prudish for that. I have only been on 2 other cruises abut was on one of the 4 day trips in the UK and will be going back on Virgin next year.

You will not be judged at all if you do not participate, I have no desire to exercise at all when I am at sea but it will not stop me from enjoying this ship. 12:38 I know what he means about the importance of music. I was at a club a few years ago and the place was packed and so was the dance floor. The music was excellent but then suddenly the DJ plays Marilyn Manson followed by a dozen heavy metal songs. I am not kidding, about 2/3rds of the people left the club in 20 minutes. That was a lot of paying customers walking out the door because the DJ was a metal head and all before 11pm.

I think you did a great job Justin. I am not a fan of the style of Virgin. Healthy food, workouts, etc. I am fit and healthy, but on a cruise, I am there to eat, finish out the soft serve ice cream machines, drink, and be rowdy a little with friends. The odd acts and even the decor on Virgin just was not at all appealing. I wonder if there is a big enough market of cruisers that will continue to cruise with them after one cruise, that is what keeps the line afloat, repeat cruisers. I just can’t see even going on one of their cruises let alone returning.

Royal and Celebrity both are about a quality experience with great ships and a fantastic staff. I've never had a bad Royal or Celebrity cruise. If you really want a laid back experience with few to no kids and no crowds, try Celebrity.

Oh dear, I had kind of expected a bit more from Virgin, but on the strength of your review I will not be booking a cruise any time soon on any of the Virgin ships. It looks to me like it could be a non-starter for them, especially for us Brits. It doesn’t look appealing at all. The entertainment looks rather bland too. We're going on it in 10 days...I was hyped , but now lowered my expectations. Not because if your review, but mostly about service and expiernce leading up to the cruise. Downright dreadful and that app...a total pain. I had a lengthy conversation with an awesome rep over the phone who assured me that since we are in a suite we will not have issues with things like reservations etc, but I am not so confident. No matter what we will have a great time, but so far not impressed.

We had a great time, but Virgin was not for us. They had some really great pluses, food was probably the best we've had, but we just aren't thier target audience. It had an upscale carnival vibe.. younger party environment priced for a higher end market. Don't get me wrong, we like to have a fun .. drink, dance etc. But we also like a more classic cruise expiernce.. shows etc. Maybe when they get thier stride going they will iron out some of the kinks. But we had some major customer service issues that we very uncalled for..we had a suite with concierge.. who we had not even met until day 4, and only after I was so upset I spend an hour with a customer service rep explaining my frustrations when they advised me I should be starting this with my concierge.. and i was who is that? Long story short.. had an amazing time, mostly because of the group we were with... but won't be booking Virgin again.

As you all have to keep in mind Virgin is a British company, so a lot things may not be appealing to Americans. They wanted to give consumers a different product than what’s on the market right now. This cruise is for those that want to experience something different. I do think it’s way overpriced for everything that’s included/excluded. The decor is very ostentatious and gaudy, for $1500 price tag I was expecting decor a long the lines of a Celebrity cruise. It gives off “I used my 3 yr old’s drawing as inspiration.” There are too many different color schemes/design themes going on that isn’t cohesive. The cabins are massive but if I am attempting to sleep at 1am, I don’t want to hear the person in the cabin next door rocking out with a guitar or have the record player blasting.

@@karilankford7523 EXACTLY, there are plenty of people who do not want that, nor be around it for their holiday. Many people want to take a holiday just to get away from all of that. There is a market for this type of cruise and the crafty TA will figure out how to sell it. So many people I know simply would never consider a cruise because there are no "adult only" cruise ships currently on the market. There are tons of dual income no kids people with the money wanting to go on a cruise but the options now are either a cruise for people who are in retirement or people traveling with kids, there is not really an in-between.

We have no children and don’t want to be around a lot of other peoples and have never had any problems feeling like we had our own space for adults while cruising.

We love RC, the large ships are the ones I prefer, even though I am in my 60’s I love to zip line and rock climb and even tried flow rider (main word :: tried) but also like just to sit around the pool in the adult only part which is usually beautiful. Have a great cruise whenever you go again!!

No I don't care how many positive reviews there are if the muster drill is confusing that's a major red flag for me because if something goes wrong I don't want to be stuck among a crowd wondering where I'm supposed to go

We loved Virgin Voyages when we sailed from Southampton. There were niggles (App and Pool Area are spot on), the food was great but we didn't take to Pink Argave but the others were great and we enjoyed it a lot and often had a burger. The Entertainment where you said there were dead areas. We didn't expierence this we had singers in usally 2-3 bars of a night on the run up, also never met the magician. The shows we had a Mr Thing (Comedy show) we enjoyed but some didn't but had Host/Singer and a funny Puppet. Personally I liked the entertainment overall but I balance the music into this. I think a drinks package would be a welcome addition. Personally I feel Virgin are testing the waters and seeing what works and they will adapt but time will really tell on that. Honestly I’d love to but I have legitimate proof that if I make that video literally nobody will care to watch it. This has been proven time and time again unfortunately. And yeah they are definitely testing some things out. Some stuff they had in UK that isn’t in Miami

These ships need to hire you for big $$$ to teach them few things. I’d have an issue with the same things. After watching several videos on this ship, I really don’t have any desire to waste my money to find out how I’d like it. Doing our first cruise since COVID-19 in a month on Bliss. I hope NCL/LA port will be organized and we’re not frustrated by the time we get on the ship. Cheers to you! 🥂

Celebrity is a great cruise line if you want to sail with few to no kids. They have all the perks you'd expect in a cruise, without the hassle of dealing with kids.

We just got off on June 1st, 2022. So much has changed since your video. Especially now that they have their own pier. You can book 45 days out your restaurants. I had no issue with the muster location. I agree about the pop up entertainment it should be all day. The Nerd Comedian was funny. probably no on board during your trip. We had no issues with the food. I loved the fact that there was no children! The app worked flawlessly with my iPhone, the wife Android had to reload the app once on the ship. They have a new DJ. I like the no cruise director thing, no annoying announcements. The drink package was prepaid deal, you buy $300 and I got $100 free, not $50. But I called prior to sailing. App for everything. I appreciated your opinion but you are addicted to conventional cruising. Think out of the box and adult only. We will go again.

I guess you skipped the sex therapist show? I haven’t seen any positive reviews on that yet. I’m embarking this weekend and the app seems to be working well. They let us sign up for our evening meals starting 15 days before, so I know where I will be eating every night already. I still have high hopes. Good food, exercise and private Karaoke rooms will go pretty far for me.

Thanks for the review and please do another video talking about the room and the seating options around the cruise ship. I saw another review and the seating and decor makes me think that Virgin only wants very fit people to cruise with them based on the lightweight seating.
