You’re right, there definitely is something about 日常生活 in Japan that’s hard to replicate in Sweden. There’s just this feeling of endless possibilities and discoveries, however small or big, that made me feel excited to wake up there every single day.

It's very funny how you describe Japan and Sweden being so different when from my experience Japan is just sort of a tropical version of Sweden :-D Sweden has recently became more relaxed which comes with some flaws but that's it. Anyway, two countries mentioned are my favorites worldwide. And one more thing, Japan is so f*cking dark in summer!

New sub. Moving next month to Japan! Can't wait to spend every day eating $3 combini food and relaxing on a nice rainy day in the 100% humidity.

Well, you better get busy filming the B-roll for the next 10 things video! 😅 As of right now you have 50 likes! 🎉🥳 It's so funny that you talk about nostalgia and child like wonder, even though you haven't been there long. I feel the same way, but I've never been to Nippon. 😅 It's been a dream of mine for most of my life and I really hope I will get to see and tour it one day. 😌 Once I get full use of my legs again, and I'm not stuck in a wheelchair anymore, I really want to come there. And I know...I just said come there, 😅 but I seriously wouldn't mind both of the connotations. 🫰🏻

I very much miss the food from Japan. Even the quality of groceries is so much better than what I was used to growing up.

That was fun! As a Brit living here for many years, Japan can still surprise me. Are you living on the Tobu Tojo line....?

I had no particular interest in Japan or Japanese things but when I moved there, I also felt that strange ambient nostalgia. In a way, Japan is the closest you can get on earth to an 'opposite' of Western/northern latitude material civilization, i.e. where humans with a similar level of technology are approaching modern life. I assume our ancient ancestors got that feeling just crossing a few valleys over in the Pleistocene, but now we barely get that feeling at all, since information is everywhere.

Japan sounds quite the place for me (except for the busy streets) but I just moved to Sweden from the Netherlands. Can't drag my family to Japan again... oh well... Maybe your 10 things not to like video will make me rethink it. 🧡

Not July/August! Summers are disgusting here. I'd say November is great :D Or spring if you want to do what the rest of the world does.
