Encouragement here! Have a 29 year old that I homeschooled most of the way. His ACT score was 33. He skipped most of college, and for him it was right. He is in IT in a hospital and has worked since he was 17. Relax... curricula is good and needed, but keep in mind learning is ongoing, for life. People gave me stuff, and I used what he needed. Have fun!

From the South I'm considering homeschooling my 10 yr old son who's in the 5th grade now. He has been in public and online schooling and he still struggles. My son has been really struggling with medical issues and this has been his worst year and his online school is currently retaining him. Your video has been the best I have watch so far and you have answered some of the questions that have been twirling around in my mind. Thank you and I really look forward to watching your other videos and planning for a successful school year for my son.

We homeschooled for 12 years, and the kids are off to college and doing well. I really wish we had found Classical Conversations from the beginning. We found it in middle school and high school. Yes, that is what got me started too! I hate how God is not allowed to be spoken about, yet the kids play and talk about the demonic Ouji game and play the demon summoning “Charlie Charlie pencil game”. Totally unsafe environment. Plus now I’m high schools they have transgenders playing women’s sports and using their locker rooms. 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏻♀️

Perhaps all of you parents should investigate WHY religion(s), god(s), and public prayer(s) are not allowed in public schools. First hint: the answer is in the US Constitution's freedom of religion clause and tradition. Second hint: the concept of fairness and equality should apply to all 18 major religions and hundreds of minor religions around the nation and world. Also, please educate your children about all these other religions as well as non-religion (agnosticism, atheism, deism, humanism, etc.). It's a big world and understanding our fellow humans is important.

Wife and I are considering relocating back to my home county (Moldova) after we pay off her federal student loans, and build a home in my village (expected cost about $50k), and then homeschool. Currently looking at curriculums. The only down side is that no one home schools in my village or near by city but we intend to! So much flexibility and focus on discipleship. Can’t wait to get going on it!

I just found this today. I think this list is great. We are starting our 3rd year of homeschooling so we are relatively new. What I didn't expect was that I would like homeschooling. We chose to pull kids out of public school because we thought God wanted us to do it and I found out that I like it! It is definitely hard at times but over all I have no regrets. I particularly like the tip, "YOU DO YOU!" The bible says that "he who compares himself to others is not wise." I find myself struggling when I start looking at what everyone else around me is doing. When in focus on God and on my family life is simple. I am still building my community. We have had a few false starts but we are building up a group of close friends.

Hi Jenn before starting homeschooling do we have to let the community school know. And do we have to register the children with a school Biard? Like how do we let the town know that the kids are homeschooled not just sitting home escaping school?
@angelawilson16334 жыл бұрын
@@honoratbozor7013 hello, check online for the LAWS for homeschooling in your STATE. In Ga, l had to go up to the school in person to take my children out. (You'd probably want to do that at the end of their last school year) I had to register them with the board of education two wks before the school year started. For each child registered l received a student register number. The best advice that l can give you is check with your BROAD OF EDUCATION everything you're looking for should be on their online website. Also there's a online program called k-12, it's school but it's online. Depending on your income you can qualify for a free laptop. Hopefully l was able to help you somewhat. I hope everything works out for you.

I’ve been a home school Mum for nearly two months and I’m doing horribly. We had to do distance learning with his school but I had to pull him out because it was massively impacting his mental health. I’m a bit stuck since I’m disabled, and due to my health, I can’t leave the property most of the year. How do I be creative with a nearly 11 year old? He has passion subjects that are home ex (baking and cooking) and I’ve realised how happy he is when he’s being creative with his hands so he’s doing some awesome stuff. He finds text books better and hates any online programs with a passion. Some days I have to be on the couch and nap. What can I do to feel less horrible as a teacher and Mum and human? I’m constantly trying new things but we have to legally do maths and English and science. Science we can cover with his passion subjects. But he has to do some specific things or I’m in the crap with our home Ed department. I’m at a bit of a loss of what to do.
@mdwms61524 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you might be in UK or Australia (since you said Mum and maths...)? Sounds like you are doing okay. He has interests you ca capitalize on. Could he make a 'cooking for kids' vid? Perhaps there is someone who could be a tutor? With an older child, they may have to get math by doing something like woodworking, or at least as part of that. Is he mature enough to understand that he must live up to state standards? Find out what they are and lay it out for him. He may come up with a solution!

Just ask at different stores. JoAnn Fabrics and Crafts give a discount, for ex. Call around and ask. You can say you are a private school teacher. Look at the positive side you won't have to deal with bullying situation or having to worry if your child has a friend that's a bad influence or dealing with lazy teachers that don't do the teaching job right and blaming it all on the kids.

Do you have suggestions for math and ela curriculum for an 8th grade with learning disabilities?

Hi, you might have good results with Math U See, it is more hands on and can help students visualize what is happening a bit better. bit.ly/2FLHPI1

How do you search and find curriculum? I have no idea how to find what I think might work.

Exactly that's my problem with my son. He is autistic (high functioning), he can only read at 1st grade level. What to do?

How do I homeschool a kindergartner? He was in preschool before this whole COVID-19 situation and is currently enrolled to go into kindergarten in a month. I am too scared to send him to school 😞 I don't feel I am advocating for him by sending him out during this pandemic
