I agree, and I've been longboarding a lot longer than I have been skateboarding, but if I ever met someone who rides longboards and they told me they were a skater and I found out that they just ride longboards, that would be cringey af. Even now that I also skateboard, I'm not good enough at it to ever tell anyone that I "skate". If anything I would say that I have been longboarding for a long time and am learning to skate.

I guess the problem is that the majority of street skateboarders think, that longboarding equals just cruising which for them is posing. That's fine for me, I don't understand the problem if someone enjoys just riding around. But I'm also sick of people that don't even cruise around and really just use the board as a fashion accessoire. Basically if you do serious longboarding like e.g. downhill, techsliding, dancing or LDP it can be just as much hard work as street skating and longboarders hate posers as much as the rest of skaters.
@gabej56873 жыл бұрын
I street skate pretty much exclusively and so long boards are like a training wheel big soft wheels big surface but if you actually long board like hilltops and shit that's different I just see them as 2 different things longboarders are longboarders and people who skate regular boards and skaters

I used to skate, but after breaking an arm and a knee, I now started going 60 mph down a hill with a longboard. No difference, but at least I only scratched my leg.

2:37 that's exactly what happened to me! I even made sure I had enough information I would need to get a board that I could use as a beginner, and we ended up just going to Walmart.

I've had a few boards in my life... each one behaved slightly differently.. my first I named bitey after I just learned to skate tried to go down a half pipe and bailed the board span round and landed primo and my shins landed on it... the first shock of pain I felt it felt like a wolf had biten my shins so I called it bitey it was an aggressive board I took it out a few months ago and it chucked me off its back and onto the floor but so I know it wasn't just because I was new to skating but yeh every skatboard is different

I've been in love with skateboarding for over 30 years now. I never understood why people hated us so much. Now that I am a property owner with a new born, I don't want skateboarding anywhere near my property. I slowly became the square I always despised.

I teach my little cousin to skate and the first thing that I did with his parents was go to a skateshop and tell them what the differences are between Walmart boards and skateboards
