Anti -intellectualism isnt about being against education or knowledge. Certainly not the way its presented by Anna. Anti -Intellectualism is about the academic/Ivy League culture of snobbery, closed mindedness, entitlement, and politics that comes from that set. A lot of people aren't crazy about your wine swiller that says "Latinex" instead of "Latino/Latina" and brags about how putting their seven year old on puberty blockers to support their transgender journey. Plenty of people hate those. It has nothing to do with being well read, knowledgeable, worldly, or enlightened.

I feel like it’s impossible to be extremely educated regarding everything, therefore being humble, curious and willing to learn is a great advice. People that are passionate about something, normally love to share that passion and knowledge. Learning from someone can be a great bonding and networking experience. Also, find out what you truly are passionate about and keep your mind open to different things, different experiences and opinions (and this is why critical thinking is sooo important). Thank you for mentioning the importance of culture and how stimulating it can be. I’m a culture worker myself - im a classical musician. I’m so sad to see mostly old people attending concerts. Maybe classical music is an acquired taste. Or maybe people are just intimidated and afraid they won’t get or like it. I think an appreciation for culture is something that needs to be developed ideally early in life. Parents need to bring their kids to cultural events, give them a taste of it so they may seek it for themselves when they’re adults. I’m not saying a grown up who never entered a hall or a museum is a lost cause - absolutely not. But it’s less likely that going to hear the symphony will come to your mind when thinking of how to spend your Friday night if you never went. Something I’d add to your already well curated list : learning another language. It’s difficult if you don’t get to practice it to become somewhat fluent of course. But if you can, it’s amazing what it does to your brain! It opens your mind too to discover that other languages are structured differently - and soon your own thoughts get built differently in you mind when speaking that other language. And most importantly it gives you the opportunity to discover people you could never had talked to otherwise - you don’t even need to be that good, confidence and curiosity are key! Thank you for another great video 🙏

Yes, you're right, mostly old people attending concerts. When I was at Royal Opera House two weeks ago, I saw a small number of young people. For me, someone who doesn’t know that much about classical music, yes, it is intimidating. My school experience was of going from private schools to a public school in a poor neighborhood, and it is so true about the approach to analytical thinking. In private school whenever we had to give a definition or example of something, we had to put it in our own words. At public school I didn't pass an exercise because when the teacher told us to write sentences down as examples of different definitions, I had written new examples and he had wanted us to just write down word-for-word exactly what he had said. It was very eye-opening.

This is a good video, defining educated, but also how to... There are so many accessible informations online now. As a child I got the right foundational values from my family, but my curious mind allowed me to search for more, and by going to better (free/public) schools I befriended people whose families did run by correct manners, language / elaborate vocabulary (in french this is important), hard work, respect and interest in culture & arts...so you do end up levelling up alongside these families.

My favorite video of Anna. I have a couple of passions and I've always been criticized by my father as "Jack of all trades master of none" but the end of the saying is: "oftentimes better than master of one"

The best education is living in a multi socio economic world. Fancy and not fancy. Talking to all types of people. Connecting w them. Talking not about weather or your pets, but connecting hearts and sharing love.

When I lived in bigger cities, I was able to do all of those things - now, I'm in Mississippi (temporarily) and all I have to say is - Thank goodness for Amazon (home shopping) and the internet... Without these I would not be learning a new language, learning to crochet my own designs (to sell or gift) and I learned how to cook better meals, design my dream home and learn to put the power of manifesting to work...

With some of the greatest writers (Tennessee Williams, Faulkner, Welty) and musicians being from Mississippi, along with the historic architecture, why not explore that?

@@TRUTHWINSALWAYS11 Since the context is in and of itself about education, it is very much a different scenario and referring to a meta conversation. Context is everything in conversation.

@@TRUTHWINSALWAYS11 if you would respect your own principles you would have kept this response to yourself. Food for thought what keeps your manners still out of context- and a great day.

Love this video so much! Some girls invest so much on their looks and the moment they open their mouth, you can tell they are not educated and there's a massive mismatch between looks and substance. Having both (the looks and the education)is definitely a winning formula!

Hi Anna .. great video❤️.. I love the way your points were presented.. point 7 on critical thinking is something that many people just don’t do .. excellent reminders for us all . I also believe traveling can help with our educations. It teaches us to be flexible and observant… I’m looking forward to your next video. XXOO

An interesting video. I went for a man who was well educated and hard working and loving. We are not rich. We have had fifty two years of happiness. I like listening to your advice. It is interesting to know what younger women want. Best wishes Anne

My favorites are opera and the symphony. The first time at symphony my seat was in maybe fourth row or third row from the orchestra. The air vibrated from the playing of the instruments, and those vibrations went right through me to the point where I felt that my body was no longer solid. The music of the symphony tells a story and each instrument has its part. The listener also has a part and that is to experience everything not just with the ears but with the heart and soul. Tears streamed down my face. I still cry at the symphony but of course, the first time I was completely overwhelmed by the beauty.

Dear Anna, really enjoyed the tips and knowing a bit about your background. I was born in Brazil, from a very modest and hard working family, I can identify a lot with your experience. When we acquire knowledge and use it in the right way with good motives, it empowers and give us confidence and also make better decisions. Today I live in the south of France, and many of the things you mentioned there is very similar to what my father in law told me a few years ago. How nice to have someone giving you this type of encouragement and helping you to grow. Big hug!
