It depends on the type of examination requested. It also depends on whether the claim is in litigation or not.

I just read on google that Michigan does not allow any kind of recordering, even someone who would sit and take notes for you. This is so unfair to the people of that state ...

The insurance company should be responsible to explain the scope of the examination requested.

I have been receiving long term disability for 5 years, it has been found out that I have a genetic metabolic disorder of the muscles, I informed the insurance and now they want to stop the payment because they know I am going to be disabled for the rest of my life. I have been sent to their "independent" doctor, with very light activity I can get very sick so it was not difficult to show to the doctor what my symptoms are, I was very sick, I couldn't walk and I was in a bed in the clinic for hours. I was throwing up. They told me I looked very pale and they were afraid I was going to pass out. Finally after a few hours I could walk again and somebody came to pick up me. Do you think this is enough proof for them to understand how disabled I am? My doctor is one of the best specialist of metabolic disorders and he confirmed that my illness impacts very deeply my life, my employer share the same opinion. My illness is not invisible. Can the insurance stop the payment if everyone can see how sick I am?
