The Killhouse being updated to be "After Epilouge" can actually re-enforce a personal theory that The Freelancer faked their death to get everyone off their back, because they *were* #4 on the FBI most wanted list. The reason why Rose would be there is probably them reminiscing about how many times they trained in that killhouse. Or maybe it's just a dream The Freelancer has while sleeping in a safe house after escaping the bunker. (The reason why I made this theory is because I escaped with 10 minutes left before detonation, therefore allowing them to climb up and fake their death upon detonation.)

So to get the alternative timeline ending interrogate base commander then go only stealth and if your lucky like 1% of players hten you have the lab with all the Intel and files and not them packed(like in Canon) so then you have 1 mission left the deposit and the alternate soundtrack that I never got might be in alt timeline and then you end Ironman by joining Pheonix which means you will die and Pheonix will fall that's what went wrong on the killhouse nightmare theory that is not Canon. Some say it's the afterlife. One idea I once had (though personally discredit) is this is not truly death, perhaps a state of suspended animation while the brain itself undergoes some kind of matrix like simulation, under some organisation or other. Main flaws are: - The freelancer's body was likely buried in a deep bunker by the blast and collapse at black dusk. Unless the elevator shaft could maintain integrity, and the blast did not destroy the body, there is no way to recover what would remain. - While Steel Cove's reach is unclear, it is unlikely they have the means to do this. However, for all we know, Onyx is a cyborg that can be operated by a human subject after conditioning. While odds are poor, I won't call it impossible unless a sufficient point is raised against it. A few points that somewhat support it/do not exclude it's possibility are: - Steel Cove has exhibited knowledge of both Halcyon and Phoenix. While motives are far from obvious, it is clear they at least knew of at minimum one location used by phoenix at least. - The ability to simulate a realistic (in universe) world scenario is neither explicitly confirmed or denied, and as a government organisation is at least the closest to this achievement, if not already there. - As it is inferred the data for Onyx was present in the servers at the lake house, it is clear that the data either A) Had to be kept from leaking, or B) Was the only example available, being originally procured from the lab working with it. Despite this, they never intervened during Black Dusk. If this was by intent or by not knowing cannot be determined. That sure was a lot, but that's one of my crazier ideas about Onyx, and the Kill house. TL:DR. The theory is that Onyx is a cyborg that may or may not be using the consciousness/remains of us, the freelancer.
