I seriously thought my drivers window was binding up rolling up and down. Now I know it's a feature, and not a bug. Thanks for the video!
@Mike-vd2qt2 жыл бұрын
Bonus #12: "Driver Monitoring System" (DMS) in the manual. The DMS system will often beep randomly when you pass trucks, go under bridges, drive through shade from trees, or driving around corners. The only fix is placing a piece of tape over the camera that points at the driver. Then it will only beep once after approximately one mile, and state DMS not functioning. #13: The incoming phone volume set at highest setting 38, does not work. Incoming phone volume not adjustable because it is not tied to the radio volume knob. Subaru dealer has an update for the computer to fix this problem.

should add the tow hook on the front and rear bumpers (litle square plastic cover). The long metal screw type hook can be seen under the trunk floor in the video. Stuck in a ditch or in the snow? Pop the cover off and screw the hook, attach tow strap to be pulled out. A few (not all) manufacturers have this feature and I am aware that most people do not know about this handy tow trick.

I have a Premium trim Outback so I don't have the driver monitoring system and from everything I've heard about it, I'm glad I don't. I have not heard about the hand signals to adjust the HVAC temps up or down. That sounds interesting, but you can also do that with the voice commands and you're not limited to the arbitrary 4 degrees up or down they programmed in. I am glad to know that the auto windows slowing down at full up and full down were deliberately programmed to do that. I always thought the tracks were just a little tight at the extremes. It wasn't that bad so I never complained about it. Now I'm glad I didn't. I also found your description of how the windows are supported in the door interesting. I have always been very impressed with how solid the doors sound when being opened and closed. My Outback is probably the best car I've owned with regards to that. It really speaks to the build quality of the Outback.

Also when you get a 2023 (or maybe the 2020-22 as well). The basic Premium on up Stereo system w 6 speakers has Bass enhancer and other options to configure that will make it sound a heck of a lot better than they did in the Forester. So don't forget to adjust them, when coming out of the mfr, the stereo needs to be fiddled as well as adjusting the bass, midrange and treble. I suspect that Subaru kept the Harmon stereo system in there and just give 6 speakers instead of 12, but I might be wrong. Either way it's a much better stereo than I've ever had before.

#6.5 then, should be, that one doesn't want to drive around with that privacy shield in that secondary (upper) position, as it does noticeably reduce visibility out the rear window via the rearview mirror. That feature is purely about imceasing loading/unloading ease.

I love the 11th feature! Or rather I WILL love the 11th feature (2023 Outback on order). I frequently find myself taking a phone call while having lunch in the car.. On my 2016 Outback, restarting the engine disrupts the hand-free operation.

2023 adds the Wireless Charging option, and they go back to the Traditional Round Foglights, and they fixed the headunit software (though update for the 2020-22 has also been released) Not mentioned as much but I believe all Outbacks now have auto high beams control, and of course the PIN code feature, which Is very handy esp when you walk out and just want to get something from the car. Disabling the key is easy, remember hold the top button and push the unlock button twice. It'll blink 4 times, hide the keys wherever and you can go to beach etc. To enable the key again, hit the unlock button. Screw driver is in the back, useful, has both flathead and Phillips. Tip, buy bug and tar remover, you'll need it. Had the Forester and that wasn't an issue, but now that I have the Outback it's like all the bugs from God's green earth decide to hit my windshield all at once. Final Tip, if you're on the road and you forget to turn on the A/C, just hit the up or down physical buttons and A/C turns on automatically.

Here's something I didn't know. While you pay for the equipment to perform a remote start, you also have to pay to use it. You buy it, and you pay or it doesn't work. If I had known that prior to signing the papers,I wouldn't even have gone to a Subaru dealer. I'd be driving a Mazda! Paying a subscription fee to use something I bought, is damned offensive. Toyota was going to do it too, but the feedback, people saying that is a deal breaker, made them relent.
@pslgreg Жыл бұрын
@@onlineperson12643 The regular remote has a sequence that is supposed to activate the remote start, but the lights flash, the horn beeps, and then nothing. I'm still considering a lawsuit, demanding a refund for advertised equipment, paid for, but unusable without an extra fee. Something along the lines of breach of warranty.

Yes, but it won't "open", it just unlatches to allow someone to lift it up. Edit: You can also use the PIN entry button to the right of the tailgate release to lock the car when everything is closed too.

Auto electric window is standard on most cars. 10 things I already knew my 6th Gen Outback has / does.
@billynbass70212 жыл бұрын
Right
@BornToDriveOfficial2 жыл бұрын
I don’t think you got the point of that feature regarding the electric windows I mentioned. The electric window slows down towards the end of its travel to prevent the sudden thud noise when it stops. The inner/outer belt lip seal for the window also holds the window in the full down position so the window rattle upon door slam is minimized. You may understand this, but many other owners will be happy to learn that their car was engineered with this design.

A feature that the word "bonus" does not apply to: the battery drain issue that was part of the class action suit for Subarus built between 2015-2020 still exists in 2022. So you WILL discover that your car won't start if you go a day or so without driving it, and you WILL want to purchase a jump-pack, because there isn't always going to be a nearby car that you can use to jump-start your Subaru. (Or worse, that other car is also a Subaru, and you BOTH have dead batteries.)
