I’ve read that 4x100 fits fine even without “wobble bolts” I’m running Falken all season tires and they’re great and weren’t too expensive. The turning circle is annoying but the Abarth rack is a quicker ratio so I think it’s worth the trade off.

My uk 2013 abarth has slight differences to yours in the US. I have never seen one in the uk with cruise control. If I hold down the TTC button for 10 seconds it does not turn off traction control fully. Minor details, the gear stick shape is different, the boot gauge is in a different place. Those are just a few things I picked up from your video. It’s nice to see the difference between the same year car but in different countries 😊

Yeah the turning circle was a surprise for me when I first bought a Abarth, I ended up kerbing a wheel, the other quirk is how thin the bodywork is, It's so easy to put dents in it when leaning over the car if you have keys in your pocket, now I know about these things I treat the car with kid gloves when cleaning it and parking it.

4x98mm bolt pattern is Fiat specific. My 1977 Fiat 124 spider uses the same pattern. As does Lancia and Maserati 4 bolt cars.
@SimpleCarGuy3 жыл бұрын
I imagine it's much more popular in Europe as I've never seen on here in the states. Would be cool to have a Lancia from the old days!

But it is an odd pattern for North America, wheel adapters 4x100 are commonly available for Fiats.

I own a 2013 Abarth 500C - To do this great little car justice, I always want to WARN everybody about this hot little engine. It's very 'fussy' about its spark plugs - Don't use anything but the NGK plugs (NGK Laser Iridium SIKR9A7). Here's why : With SPORT mode off it runs great (fully stock engine) - With SPORT mode on and under 3,500 rpm it runs fine, idles fine, starts fine, slow acceleration/gentle throttle fine. - Now OVER 3500 rpm and at 80-100% throttle, it begins to miss, emanates machine gun popping from the exhaust, acceleration gets interrupted, it coughs and splutters. If I back off a little then gently throttle back on, it's ok, but when pushed it runs like crap. - This is all caused by the very high Boost of the "Sport" mode which creates faulty or OTHER brand plug "Ignition Interruption" inside the combustion chamber...

The euro versions all come with some version of a muffler, in the Uk for example your exhaust cant exceed 70db you can buy the muffler delete but will most likey get you a fine for exessive noise, the turning circle is larger than a stock 500 because of the wheel size, Abarth modify the steering rack with endstops to stop the wheel rubbing on the inner arch, its also why the front wheels are a diffrent size, its a shame the US doesnt get the facelift model as they addressed alot of the pre 2015 model issues, its a much nicer car, my only complaint with my 2018 model is the seat is still way to high, and would like to have seen a telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel.

My uk version doesn’t turn traction control off after holding the TTC button, is yours the same?
@puggster Жыл бұрын
@Jade Bryony yes you can't turn it off, the only Physicsl way is to disable the Yaw sensor located under the handbrake trim, the black wire gets chopped and a switch added, this also disables ABS, Hill hold, and ESP with warning on dash that ESP is unavailable, All safety features are off except airbags, to reset it, Turn off car then enable the switch and it will be back to normal, I tried it but its very squirmy to drive, and torque steer is horendously strong, and can break traction even in 3rd gear. Be great for track day though 😂

I believe the wide turning circle is because of the placement of the inter coolers.

The turning circle has to do with the steering ratio. The non abarth models have a better turning circle.

I think the spare tire isn't included on the Abarth to save weight. Mine also doesn't have it either. But my other 500, a regular 500 does have a spare wheel underneath the trunk.
