Gene Wilder said in a late night interview that the only time he and Mel Brooks ever got into a fight was over the Puttin' On the Ritz scene. The horses rearing back at mention of 'Frankenstein' was in Django Unchained with the nodding horses 'Fritz'. Dr. King Schultz was a traveling German like Dr. Frankenstein, even riding in the carriage like Schultz & Calvin Candie. Cloris Leachman in YF was the prototype for Candie's sister in Django Unchained, even walking the steps with a candlabra. And Blazing Saddles' scene taunting the KKK "where the white women at?!" set off the scene with the bagheads agruing over the bags in DU. On the real QT owes Mel Brooks credit & $$$.

He co-wrote a very famous radio comdey series, Round The Horne with Barry Took (Who, at one time was head of comedy for BBC2, and commisioned a rather strange television comedy series, I believe it was called something thing like Owl Squashing Time or it might have have been Minty Pylon's Flying Bat, or something along those lines 😁) It was David Frost (Who for those in the US of A might recall did a rather (in)famous series of interviews with their Prime Minister or was it the President Robert Molehill Nillson) who gave Mary Feldman his break into televison with a series called 'At Last the 1948 Show'. There were a couple of people who later became rather minor celebrities in it too, I think one was Jim Cheese and the other George Chaplin.
