Here in Germany this movie is famous like E.T. or Star Wars. This movie is a legend over here. When we were kids, this was a real blockbuster. This movie is brilliant.

Das ist doch Quatsch. Ich hab auf die Schnelle niemanden gefunden, der den Film kennt. Dafür kennen alle Star Wars und E.T.. I actually saw the special car hauler that was hauling the cars to the location as it went through Phoenix. This movie is a prime example why you should never listen to a movie critic. I rarely agree with them and typically I just ignore them. this is a great movie. You did miss one thing about one of the biggest stars of the movie though... the car the Wraith drives was a special Chrysler PPG Pace car that was loaned to the movie company for the movie. It was a one of a kind prototype and came with a whole crew of mechanics and engineers to maintain it. "He's no match for the 'Cuda son!" I didn't know about Johnny Depp though. I imagine the real reason he was hanging around was to keep an eye on his girlfriend around Charlie Sheen... knowing what we know now about both of those two people!

@richardike23424 жыл бұрын
You cannot pull that of anymore.
@rotor134 жыл бұрын
@@richardike2342 Yes you can. Principle photography (when they actually shoot the filming of the actors) can last as little as 30-60 days. Everything else before/after principle photography is done with a 2nd or 3rd Unit for things such as stunts and to allow time for any CG production and rendering. This is why for some actors, they can be in multiple movies that release all in the same year - because they don't just film one movie/tv show for a few months and they're done for the year.

Thank you MARK! I'm an old man now, but have watched almost every movie or televised movie or Shows ever made & this was very entertaining for me. Great 'CALL-BACK' on all the people who were so young then! Johnny Depp on the Film Crew, WOW! Didn't know that one! I wanted that Black Car, but knew it would be HARD TO SEE out of to drive it anywhere. I do love The 80'S for the EXPLOSION of MOVIES & MUSIC that changed the WORLD! Just like YOU, MARK, are doing now!! KEEP ROCKIN' ON, MY FRIEND!!!

Kavinsky's OutRun album's spoken parts tell about a teenager in 1986 who's soul is merged to a demonic red car in a crash and invisible to everyone but her girlfriend. The album cover features a silhouette of a man against a thunderstorm with a Ferrari Testarossa. The movie might have given some inspiration, I think.

Jason Michael Gomez the real Dodge M4S car was only used in still shots never raced. Dodge sent an 18 wheeler and a few guys that never let it out of their sight. It was worth more than a million dollars and that was in 1981. It was a camera guy standing outside of a van that went over a cliff that died.
